Land Ahoy

Afternoon All,
I've just finished a very enjoyable Zoom session with my Granddaughter Emma so that she could read us all a story. See maybe I'm not such a dinosaur after all lol.
She chose a story called Wish Fish which by happy coincidence contains a Pirate in his ship.
This is one of the cards that I was making yesterday, now all finished and dry.
It uses one of the new Simply Print images from called LOTV called The Jolly Roger.
Talking of Dinosaurs, here is the card that I made for my friends Grandson, who absolutely loves them.
It uses another of the new images from LOTV called Birthday-Saurus.
I fussy cut the dinosaur and little boy and added it over the die cut image using Glue Gel.
The starry border die is from Magnolia and I used up lots of the waste to embellish the card.
The die cut alphabet is from Carnation Crafts. I have cut it out several times and stacked the letters before adding one cut from blue glitter card.
I hope that he will be enjoying his birthday despite all the rules and regulations which doubtless a 4 year old can't understand.
Stay Safe and Happy Crafting

Say it with Flowers

Morning,
As this is a scheduled post I hope that we aren't knee deep in snow, it was certainly cold enough for it yesterday.
This card is another reason for the tardiness of my card writing.
Every year I make a card for my Boss's daughter. He always likes to have her name on it as it is impossible for him to buy a personalised card in the shops.

I have to make sure that it is ready a day early so that he will have it for her at breakfast on the morning of her birthday. This year it was by pure chance that I turned the page on my birthday planner on Sunday morning  and realised that I had to get something made ASAP.

I used a floral embossing folder that came free on a magazine, black card stock and my trusty gilding wax along with a die cut heart and sentiment.
The flowers are also cut from black card using some Magnolia dies.
I just love the finish that the wax adds to the petals. It makes them stand out so well.
Of course I had to add some foliage and a bit of bling.
Back to Christmas prep after work today. I managed to wrap a couple of presents yesterday, although I have requested the help of my own personal wrapping fairy (my daughter Becki) as I HATE wrapping up. I am renowned for giving gifts in a carrier bag, so she nearly fell over when I told her that I had actually wrapped something lol.
Have a great day.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Happy Birthday Jenni

Evening Everyone,
Today is my eldest baby's birthday. Well they are always your babies no matter how old they are, just ask my Mum lol.
I can still remember being driven to Greenwich Hospital in the back of a car in the middle of a snow storm 37 years ago.
It was so bad that after she was born her Dad couldn't get home so the nurses pushed a couple of chairs together in a side room so that he could get some sleep. I can't imagine that happening today can you, it would be against some 'elf and safety' rule?
I made this card for her using papers from my stash and my favourite patchwork background.
I love this technique and it is a great way to use up loads of different paper scraps, or as in this case some co-ordinating sheets from a paper pad.
I have used a double sided sticky sheet to stick them to and then die cut them using one of my large Go Create dies.
The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley,
and then I have used a variety of Magnolia
and Sue Wilson dies to create the flowers and foliage.
I have also added some pale gold swirls heat embossed on to acetate and then cut out.
I haven't had the chance to give the card to Jenni yet as she has been whisked off to a surprise dinner by the rest of the family so I will have to do that on her return.
Have a good evening, and lets hope that we don't get a repeat of the weather from all those years ago.
