A little more Bargello

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have had a good day without too much new snow.
We had quite a bit in the night, but fortunately the roads are fairly clear and it appears to be disappearing slowly. Let's hope there is no more tomorrow.
I have spent a very 'uncrafty' afternoon and evening. The nearest I have got to anything craft related is clearing my desk so that I can put the laptop down with out it squashing anything.
I have been catching up on some commenting and trying to organise some photos.
I have pictures of literally hundreds of cards and it is not always easy to remember whether I have blogged them or not, so I have been pasting them all into a folder so that it it easy for me to check without scrolling through a years worth of blogposts.
Boy how sad am I!!
Now I haven't quite finished yet so I am going to share another of the cards for the new Woodware catalogue as I know that I am safe with them, they were hush hush so no chance that I have shown you them yet lol.
This is another of Jane's wonderful designs.
I have done a little Bargello paperwork in the background, a technique that I was reminded of over at Technique Tuesday.
I used background papers available from Woodware, some tiny coloured gems and of course some matching Card Candy made with a small circle punch.
I might be able to get a little more done before I go to sleep, if I'm lucky.

Happy Birthday to Me :O)

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have all had a wonderful day.
I have. Today is my Birthday and although I have been at work I have had a lovely day.
I have received lots of cards, texts and messages on Facebook, so Thank You to Everyone for making me feel special.
I have been playing with the Bargello technique that Mynnette shared at Technique Tuesday, and not wishing to waste anything I came up with this card.
I couldn't resist stamping and embossing onto the Bargello panel, just to see if I could!!
I decided that the background to the card needed some stamping on it as well, and of course some sponged  Distress inks.
My day unfortunately wasn't all good as my present to myself is an emergency dental appointment tomorrow morning after I broke a tooth.
That will teach me to share a cookie with the Grandchildren lol.
I can see that it is going to turn out to be a very expensive indulgence.
Oh well better better get some sleep, I'm an Old Lady now you know :O)

PS I just noticed that I have won the Howdy challenge over at Our Creative Corner, how wonderful is that!
Happy Birthday Me xx

Faux Leather at Technique Tuesday

Evening Everyone
Have you had a good day?
I've had plenty of cake and coffee, and crafting of course lol.
I have been trying for the last few days to get a card made to enter into Mynnette's Technique Tuesday challenge for September, Faux Leather using Masking Tape.
Well today I finally managed to finish it.
The tag has been made using the technique as described by Mynnette HERE.
I added a flower made from petals stamped onto background paper using SSC084 Stampendous Petal Plus.
I added white dots to the flower centers with a Souffle pen.
The petals were rolled to give added dimension, and of course there is plenty of silicon in there as well.
The leaves are a Cheery Lynn die which I cut from the background paper from an 8 x 8 paper pack that I got from Woodware.
I did enjoy this challenge as always, and I noticed that I was amongst the winning showcased cards from the challenge last month.
Sorry I didn't acknowledge the fact Mynnette, I do appreciate being chosen, it has just been a manic couple of weeks.
Better get a couple of hours sleep now before I get back to playing. I don't want to be too tired for class tomorrow.
Night night.

Baby Wipe Reinker Challenge at Technique Tuesday

Evening Everyone
Well my Sky box officially hates me. All I can say is thank God for Sky channels +1.
For some reason my box stopped recording part way through the Opening Ceremony to the Paralympics last night!!!
Fortunately I was catching up on some previously recorded viewing and noticed  so that I didn't miss too much, only some of the Teams entering the Stadium.
Wasn't it Awesome!! We can certainly lay on a good do.
Joclyn, who comes to classes at Davina, and her entire family are among the volunteers at the Paralympic Games. This means that we will hear all about it from first hand experience when she manages to get back to class later in September, once her duties are done.
One of my lovely Crafty Cardmaking Teamies, Mynnette,  runs a challenge blog called Technique Tuesday, where this month she has shared a Baby Wipe Reinker Challenge with us.
I having been trying all month to come up with something for it, and finally suceeded tonight.
The background to the main panel was created using Mynnette's technique, and then I stamped and embossed a lovely Woodware image over the top of it.
This is a close up of the panel which I sponged with Distress ink around the edges and embossed with clear powder.
I added some ribbon and a little Faux Card Candi.
I'm rather pleased with the results even if it wasn't exactly what I had expected, still isn't that half the fun of trying out something new.
Why don't you pop across and check out some of the other lovely techniques that she has shared, and maybe have a go at one yourself.

It didn't beat me this time Mynnette!!!

Evening Everyone.
I hope that you have been having a wonderful weekend despite the dreadful weather.
It is really not very summery here at all, although at least we haven't had as much rain today just plenty of wind.
Today I have been teaching at Davina's.
My class was inspired by the lovely Mynnette's first Technique Tuesday challenge 'Punched Window Cards', so it is very appropriate that my card tonight has been inspired by the new challenge this month 'Faux Pressed Flowers'.
The technique didn't beat me this time Mynnette, I love it lol.
I made this using some of the numerous Prima paper flowers that I have in my stash, don't we all :), as well as punched leaves.
I must be very sad as I have a small box full of leaves that I have punched out of scraps at various times, always useful when finishing off a card, and perfect for this one. It saved me so much time.
I followed Mynnettes instructions but also took inspiration from some of the other cards that have been entered into the challenge.
Why not give it a try, it is very easy and I think you will agree that it is also very effective.
The greeting is taken from a new Hobby Art clear stamp set that Jenny will be taking on to the TV next week, as is the lovely fine swirl around the edge.
I took the card with me to class today and the girls liked it so much that we are going to do it in class at the end of July, so thanks again Mynnette.
Better get to bed now, I have another busy day of crafting ahead of me. It's a hard life isn't it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Not a Fairy in Sight!!

Good Evening Everyone
I hope that you have been having a suitably wonderful weekend.
I have once again been chained to my Craft Room, although there is finally an end in sight to the projects that I have been working on. Not that I'm complaining you understand.
My card tonight was made using the technique highlighted in my teamie Mynnette's first Technique Tuesday challenge - Stamped Punched Window.
This particular card was made using part of a Hobby Art clear stamp set Fairy Girls, but as you can see there is not a fairy in sight. I also added a greeting from another set.
It was actually made for one of Jenny's TV shows. As you know I always try to make something a little bit different from what Jenny does, and so I think this technique worked perfectly.
I will be teaching this particular technique at Davina's next Saturday, so thanks for that Mynnette.
As you know Mynnette's second challenge Velveteen Stamping defeated me, so I really will have to give number three Faux Pressed Flowers a go and see if I have better luck.
Off to bed now, I have lots to do tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by.

I admit defeat Mynnette :(

Evening Everyone,
Well, I have finally been beaten by a technique challenge!!
The wonderful Mynnette has started a challenge blog called Technique Tuesday, where last month she shared Velveteen Stamping.
I wanted to enter but was short on time, so when the challenge deadline was extended it seemed the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I'm afraid that I admit defeat :(
I have read and reread the instructions and tried several combinations of paper and inks but to no avail.
This is a picture of some of the pieces that I made, and although I am happy enough with how they turned out they do not look anything like the technique as shown in Mynnette's wonderful tutorial.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.
I will finish them off when I get a chance, but for now it looks like I will have to give this challenge a miss.

I'm a Top Winner at Technique Tuesday

Evening Everyone
I had a lovely surprise today when I found out that I am a Top Winner at Technique Tuesday, the monthly technique challenge blog run by the wonderfully talented Mynnette.
I loved trying out the Punched Window Technique that was the challenge for April.
In fact I have found that it has worked well with several of the stamp sets that I have had to make samples with just recently, so you can expect to see lots more of it.
This is actually one that I made using one of the Decoupage stamp sets from Imagination Craft that I was playing with at Port Sunlight.
I stupidly forgot to take photos of the cards that I left with Sue and Harvey so I had to get them to e-mail me some pictures. No close ups I'm afraid.
Thanks for making my day Mynnette.

Christmas Playtime

Evening Everyone
I begin to think that my cards this week should have a water theme rather than Christmas since we are in danger of being washed away here. Why is it that the weather men only ever seem to get it truly right when their predictions are for terrible weather lol.
A couple of girlfriends came round last night for a little Creative playtime and I decided to show them the wonderful technique that Mynnette has been sharing with us on her Tuesday Technique MONTHLY CRAFTY BLOG CHALLENGE THING, as she puts it.
I absolutely love this technique and as you can see I got quite carried away when I was showing the Girls.
Fortunately they agreed with me and good fun was had by All, and several Christmas cards were added to every ones stash.
Why not pop over and visit Mynnette and check out her really clear instructions on how to make this type of card.
I managed to incorporate several previously stamped and embossed images from my bits box, although I couldn't help making a couple of cards completely from scratch using the Woodware Christmas background stamp and the Holly set in the first two cards in this post.
I don't seem to have shifted my headache again today. A second day on the new till system is no better, so I must try and get my head down for a few hours at least.
I hope that you have a go at making some cards using this technique, and don't forget to link them to the challenge, I'm sure that Mynnette would love to see you.
