WoodwareWitterings Sketch 53

Morning Everyone,
We have a sketch for you to work with this week over at WoodwareWitterings, and today it is my turn to play.
I have chosen one of Jane Gill's stamp sets JGS370 Calendula Bloom,
stamped and embossed onto Mixed Media cardstock using Vintage Sepia Versafine ink and clear embossing powder.
I sponged the panel with dye based ink and pieces of cut and dry foam.
No precision colouring for me I'm afraid, all except the stem and leaves.
I stamped and coloured a second flower head and cut it out using a circular die before layering it over another circle made from dark brown card stock.
The band across my card has been created from a strip of vellum and a sentiment stamped and embossed onto a small piece of card.
To add a little extra interest I stamped around the edge of the panel with the clean flower stamp which I had spritzed with water.
This gives a fabulous watery image in the background, and for the finishing touches some tiny card candi punched from the waste and some faux stitching.
No waste in the making of this card, so just for a change there is only one card to share with you lol.
Oh and here is the sketch just in case you fancy giving it a try.
Have a great day.

Easter/Spring greetings at Woodware

Morning All
I would like to think that today has started in a nice spring like manner, but as this is a scheduled post I expect that it is far more likely that we have rain lol.
It is my turn over at Woodware today, where Dorothy has asked for Easter/Spring greetings.
Now I have to admit that I don't do Easter cards, so I am hoping that a card with a nice spring feel to it will be OK.
I love this old stamp designed by Jane Gill.
I have stamped and embossed it onto a piece of white watercolour card and then sponged the image with dye based inks.
Once I cleaned the stamp I spritzed it with water and then stamped onto the sponged background. The water removes the colour to give a lovely ghosted image.
I added some dotty ribbon which I coloured with the same dye based inks to the bottom of the panel before mounting it onto coordinating card stock.
I also added some Card Candi and a dotty bow.
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT has come up with to inspire you this week.
Have a great day.......what ever the weather.

Plenty of Bamboo

Evening All,
Another weekend finished all too quickly. I'm not sure whether I have successfully finished things or not. I have this nagging feeling that I have forgotten something very important.
Oh well I guess I will soon find out what it is when someone starts shouting at me lol.
These are a few birthday cards that I finished a couple of weeks ago.
I told you that I was determined not to add any more things to my bits box, so these were all made with left overs from my last Resist with a twist class.
I just love this Bamboo stamp from Hero Arts, and so I did get a little bit carried away.
The cards are all made using Distress inks and both first and second generation stamping as well as a little spritzing with water and even an embossing folder.
I would like to enter them into the following challenges
That Crafty Place Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Anything Goes
Have a Happy Monday.

Happy Birthday to a lovely lady

Hi All
I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend.
We had another fabulous class at Davina's yesterday, and there was also plenty of cake and bickies as it was the lovely Sylvie's birthday. It is actually her birthday today, but I think we can be forgiven for treating her like the Queen.
We made her blow out the candles although we did draw the line at the bumps lol.
This is the card that I made with the panel that I created in class to show them the technique that we were playing with.
I didn't pick the best colours to show up the Water Stamping technique but everyone seemed to have fun and they made some fabulous creations.
The strips down the right hand side of the card are Woodware Masking Tape (Faux Washi Tape) which I have stamped onto.
I also added some matching Card Candi.
I hope that Sylvie has had a lovely day today, she deserves it,

Stamping with Water

Hi All
Wow, how did the weekend manage to sneak up on me again.
I'm teaching at Davina's again tomorrow so that will be good fun, some how it never seems like work.
Several of the ladies missed the class earlier in the year on Distress inks and stamping with water so we will be revisiting it in class tomorrow.
At least it means that I don't have to write new instructions which should free up the morning.
You never know I might even get a card, or two, made.
Have a great weekend.
Happy Crafting
