Autumn Colours at CCM challenge 241

Evening Everyone,
We have a new challenge over at CCM, we are looking for Autumn Colours.
I love the Autumn, definitely my favourite season. Now it may have something to do with my birthday being on October,
or the fact that it can be lovely and bright, but not nearly so hot as the summer,
or it may just be all the beautiful rich colours. Whatever it is I love it.
My card for the challenge was actually made several years ago (I told you I had hundreds of cards yet to be shared with you) using a fabulous old Stamps Happen stamp, and a mop up background.
I thought that I would take this opportunity to share a few more autumnal cards from this stash.
Another mop up background and a lovely Woodware tree designed by Jane Gill.
I have numerous leaf stamps,
and dies in my stash, and I absolutely love working with white embossing powder and inks for a bit of multiple resist.
Another leafy card, this time a little less Autumnal in colour.
Finally, where would the Autumn be without a few cobwebs and a wize old owl once again from Woodware.
I hope that you get the chance to play along with us. Please don't forget to check out what the rest of the team have come up with to inspire you.
Now I wonder what happens when I press post...…..how many times will I have to write this one before it finally gets past the Internet gremlins!!!
Happy Crafting and Hugs.

Colourful Best Wishes.

Evening Everyone
Wasn't it lovely to see the sunshine when you opened the curtains this morning? I always feel much more eager to get on when the sun is shining outside instead of curling up and sleeping like I seem to have done for most of last week.
My card tonight has been made for a friends birthday. She may well get to see it here first as she is currently on holiday, but I'm sure she won't mind me sharing it with you.
The colourful background panel has been created using an 'Ironed Resist' technique which I taught many years ago at the Craft Barn.
The leaves have been stamped and embossed onto white card using versamark ink and clear embossing powder.
Colour has been added using Kaliedacolour dye based inkpads and then the panel has been placed between several sheets of copy paper and ironed.
The heat from the iron melts the embossing powder leaving a lovely white impression.
I have used this as a background to an old Stamps Happens image.
I also painted some of the leaves and branches with thin undiluted bleach to remove the colour.
I think that this could be considered suitably spring like to go with the weather today. Lets hope my post tomorrow won't need to be another Christmas card to go with snow lol.
Have a great weekend.

Happy Birthday Finches All xx

Evening Everyone
August and September are really busy months for my Brother when it comes to birthdays, so my Sister-in-law held a joint party for them all on Sunday.
I suspect that it was probably the only way that she could get my Brother to have a party to celebrate his 50th, if it was combined with my Mum, his 2 daughters, his son and his wife!!
My brothers birthday was all the more important to celebrate this year quite apart from it being the mile stone half century since he was diagnosed with throat cancer in February.
He opted for a complete laryngectomy and follow up radiotherapy, but fingers crossed is doing very well. He has had a scan now that his treatment is finished and although we need the radiologist to look at it, his consultant says it looks clear.
The card that I gave Ross was actually made quite some time ago, but has always been amongst my all time favourites.
The zebra was stamped and embossed onto a piece of background made using Adirondack colour wash inks. I painted the stripes with bleach which have turned them a beautiful orange colour. Not very zebra like perhaps but cool all the same :)
I trimmed the image and mounted it onto white before attaching it to a green card.
The greeting is by Paper Inspirations and the Zebra stamp is by Stamps Happen. I'm not sure if you can still get hold of either of them any more I'm afraid.
I added a large bead and some threads.
If you like this card you might like to check out the other one that I made using the same stamp. HERE.
I really must get back to some crafting now as I have some really tight deadlines.
Thanks for stopping by, please don't forget to leave a comment it's always so nice to hear what people think.
Love and hugs

I'm back in the magazines.

Evening Everyone,
Well there I was all ready to blog about the classes that I taught today at Lavender Lane, when I got home to find the latest copy of Craft Stamper had arrived.
Months ago Janice from Sir Stampalot asked me if I would like to create a card for the Ideas Gallery in Craft Stamper magazine (March 2011 edition page 37). It seems so long ago now since magazines obviously have to plan their layouts several months in advance.
There was a very specific colour scheme for the gallery, as well as a theme which in this case was 'Images of  Women'. It was quite a challenge being made to use certain colours, but a very enjoyable one none the less.
The card uses Vogue Silhouette (Stamps Happen 90415) as well as Inspire (Art Impressions E2555). Trust the magazine to get the code wrong for this one lol. They also spelt my name wrong, so what can I say !!!!!
As you can see my favourite Swirl Flourish (Magnolia X1321) just had to find its way in there, as did plenty of silicone glue.
All the items used on the card are available from Sir Stampalot so don't forget to check out their website.
I can see this means that I will have to be a good girl and blog again tomorrow, so watch this space.
In the mean time I had better get back to the card making, lots to do.
By the way Gilly, yes I did have to make a box for this one.....sorry :)
Happy Crafting.

I'm a Special Guest. How cool is that !!!

Hi All
I am feeling truly honoured.
My 'Stalker' has asked me to be a special guest on the Crafty Cardmakers blog (http://craftycardmakers.blogspot.com/)
The challenge this time is Inky Fingers and Vixykins thought that I fitted that challenge perfectly lol.

Anyone who has attended one of my classes knows I don't do clean! I even manage to get in a mess when I make flowers. Well you have to ink the petals don't you :)
The card that I have posted for the challenge could be considered a bit of a cheat, in that I made it some years ago for Cardmaking and Papercraft. They sat on it for a year and then said that they couldn't use it as my style no longer fitted in with the magazine.
It has always been my favourite cards EVER and so where better to show it off than to all of you guys.

The Zebra was stamped and embossed on a piece of background paper that I made with my Adirondack Colourwash inks.
I then painted some of the stripes with Bleach. Yes it had to get in there somewhere. That is what has turned the stripes orange, good old cheap thin bleach!!

I mounted the zebra panel on to another of my favourites, black glossy cardstock. I should have shares in that and DSST lol.
The greeting has been stamped onto vellum, attatched using brads.
The background paper is from my stash, as are the beads and threads.
I do hope you like the card. As I say it is my favourite card and one I just cant bear to part with.
Happy Crafting
Love to All
