One Layer Oxide Leaves.

 Evening,

I do love my Distress Oxide Inks, most particularly because they work every bit as well on dark card as they do on light.

These very quick, One Layer cards were all created
using exactly the same colours of Distress Oxide ink,
but they look so different on the black card.
I inked these lovely old wood mounted stamps with green and brown Distress Oxides
and then stamped them out on either the black or cream card.
I gold embossed a sentiment on to the card and then added some splatters with the green and brown Distress Oxide inks mixed with a little water to make it fluid enough to splatter.
I don't often create one layer cards, but these are really so very quick and easy that they would be great to make up  as a set of cards in a box as a gift for someone. Maybe as a box of Thank You cards perhaps.
Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to write a few more Christmas cards.
Stay safe and craft.

One Layer Card for Woodware

Morning All
It's my turn to post over at Woodware today, and this week we are looking for your creations using 'Just One layer'.
I actually made this card for the latest copy of the Woodware catalouge, and it features one of Jane's fabulous new stamp sets.
I cut a circle from a piece of Masking sheet and used what was left of the sheet to create the circle of sponged dye based ink. This is called a Mortise Mask. I sprinkled some drops of water over this and gentle mopped it up with a piece of kitchen paper.
I stamped and embossed the flowers and sentiments on to the panel and painted the leaves with the same green ink.
I suppose technically this isn't a one layer card as I mounted the panel onto a black card,
so here is one that I made without any extra layers. I hope this one is OK Dorothy lol.
Why not check out what the rest of the DT have been up to this week, there are some fabulous cards as always.
Have a great day.

Are you sure it isn't Autumn?

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have had a wonderful Crafty Weekend. Well lets face it that is probably been all that you have been able to do given the weather, that's my excuse anyway.
I have been working hard on a couple of DT projects and also trying to get a heads up on a class for next month.
This card was inspired by some of the wonderful One Layer cards on the Penny Black Blog.
I masked the central panel and stamped my favourite leaves using a Creole Spice Kaleidacolor inkpad before sponging some colour using the same ink pad.
I added an embossed greeting, but you have to be careful with the clear embossing powder as it will stick everywhere if you have not used your anti static bag. I found out the hard way of course lol.
I also added a dry embossed line to either side of the panel.
As usual I found it hard to leave it as just one layer, so I added some embossed leaves in the corner to give depth, and a stitched line with a fine black pen.
It's still raining here, let's hope that it is better tomorrow.
Night night
