I got a little carried away.....

Evening Everyone,
I told you that I got a little bit carried away with the lovely colour combo at Inkspirational Challenges, so here we are with more vibrant pink, green and black.
Once again I have used one of Jane Gill's solid floral images Ferns JGS274 stamped and embossed using Black Versafine  and clear Embossing powder.

The colours have been added by sponging Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink over the stamped image, and the ghosting is the result of stamping with a wet but clean stamp onto the background.

The sentiment is also from a Woodware Clear stamp set Mixed Greetings FRCL080.

I have used more of the lovely Magenta MEMOR-212 Spring Tapestry background paper with a little additional stamping on it.

This year we are going to try something a little different in class at Davina's.
How many times do you take a class and then when you get home you can't remember how you achieved the results on your card?
Well now, inspired by the Tag class that I did at SirStampalot last year, which was in turn inspired by a Tim Holtz class that they did at CHA, I will be creating an Information Tag to accompany every class. so over the year they should build up quite a library of techniques.
I have made my tag and written the instructions for everyone so all that's left is to pack bag for class, I'm bound to forget something.

As you can see I have also incorporated the Sketch from the latest challenge at Woodware. I'm hoping that it might inspire them to enter themselves.
I'm too late to enter this card into the Inkspirational Colour Challenge as the deadline has passed so I will just have to wait and see what they come up with for Week 2 which I believe is a Photo Inspired challenge.
I can't wait.

There's a new Kid on the Block

Wow, two posts in one day, what can I say, it can't last!!
There is a new kid on the challenge block, Inkspirational owned and run by my lovely Teamie Mynnette.
It is a weekly challenge, and the first week of every month will be a colour inkspiration, this month it is Dark Pink, Kiwi and Black.
I decided that I just had to join in, and so I have used it as the basis for my class at Davina's next Saturday.
I love trying out new colour combinations and this is where the challenges are so brilliant, they make you think outside the box, or at least they do me.

I have used one of the Woodware Clear Magic stamps designed by Jane Gill. There were several in the last catalogue and they work so well for this technique that I got carried away, so expect several more posts using this colour combo.

I also like to use the sketch challenges for inspiration and here I have used the current sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. This in fact is the reason for the second blog post of the day, the challenge finishes in just over an hour. Nothing like cutting it fine!!

The panel has been created by sponging Mowed Lawn and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over the stamped and embossed image. The ghosting is the result of stamping with a clean stamp that has been spritzed with water.

The double-sided background paper is Magenta MEMOR-212 Spring Tapestry, and I have added a faux stitched border to the stamped panel.
The buttons, threads and tiny black pearls are all from my stash.
I'm really pleased with the results, I love this combo it is so bright and vibrant. Thanks for the challenges Girls.

Woodware Challenge - Pull Out the Punches

Morning Everyone
Today is my last post as Guest Designer for the Woodware Challenge, and I am very late with it.
I was travelling home from my holiday at SirStampalot and didn't get home until gone 11pm.
I know I should have scheduled it but in truth I began to feel a bit like a nodding dog writing it and I'm not sure that it was legible so I felt it best to wait until this morning so please forgive me.
This week they are asking you to 'Pull Out the Punches'.

Because I have not been at home I was restricted to using punches that I could find in the classroom at SirStampalot, so it was circles all the way.
Not a problem as they are definitely my favourite.
Whilst I may have been restricted in what punches I used the same cannot be said for my potential choice of stamps, because there had to be one of those on the card somewhere lol.
The shop is a veritable treasure trove of all things crafty, and they do a mean on line service as well, so I had plenty of opportunity to check out some of the lovely new stamps available from Woodware.
The one I have chosen is called FRS212 Alphabet Background and I knew straight away what I wanted to do with it.

I stamped and embossed the image once onto white card stock and then again onto Magenta paper MEMOR-222 Autumn Leaves and the reverse side of MEMOR-194 Delicate Stripes.
Then I set to work and punched out circles from the coloured background paper and layered them onto the white image.
It takes a little bit of time, and thought so that the pieces overlap nicely, but it is worth the effort.

The birthday greeting has been taken from another clear set FRCL198 Sail Away.
The finished panel has been layered onto bazill card stock and I also added a strip of the same colour card that I punched using the Crafty Edger border Star Party.
I tapped all round the edges of the card with a black cat's eye pigment ink pad so that the punching stood out from the main card.

The flowers were made from the left over pieces of stamped background paper.
Once again I used the circle punches to give me two sizes of circles. These have been put together into stacks, 1 or 2 small over 1 or 2 medium.
Secure them in the centre with a brad and then spritz with water and screw up.
The water helps to break up the card fibres and gives them a bit of a shabby chic look.
I didn't have any of the newsprint card candy so I made my own from another small piece of the background stamped onto white card.
If there are flowers then there need to be leaves, so I added some Ash Branch punched from the Delicate Stripe paper.
