Poinsettia Magic

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have been having a fabulous weekend.
Mine started with a wonderful surprise when I found out that I had won the challenge over at Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Challenges
It just goes to show that it is never too late to enter a challenge since I got my entry in 30mins before the deadline.
I have had a very productive day on the Christmas card front, I think I have managed to finish seven cards, not bad hey!!
I have been playing with this lovely Woodware Christmas stamp set FRCL217 Poinsettia Magic, and this is just one of the cards that I have made using it.
I used a a Colourbox Q pigment ink stack, also available from Woodware, to ink the flower and leaf stamps to create the panel on white card.
The greeting has been stamped using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I took my inspiration for this card from the sketch that I found over at Freshly Made Sketches.
I cut out the panel using Nestie Labels One and added Vintage Gold Pearlex powder to the Versamark stamped flowers on the Kraft coloured card.
I would also like to enter this in to the Anything Goes Christmas challenge over at Sparkles Christmas Challenges and also Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Challenge Extra.
Better stop for tonight. I might just cut out a few more flowers though while I'm watching TV, I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment.
Back tomorrow.

Birthday Girls

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have been having a good week.
Yesterday was my Mum's birthday. Happy Birthday Ma xx
Now normally I would share the card that I made for her, but I have also made it for a Guest Design spot so you will have to wait until the weekend before I can show it to you.
As yesterday was also my niece's birthday I thought that I would share her card instead.
I have used one of my Lili of the Valley Die cuts which rather reminded me of Leigh and her sister Lauren when they were younger. I'm not sure that they would sit and read to one another now lol.
I started off following the lovely sketch over Freshly Made Sketches, but I don't think that it is as 'Clean lined and Simple' as they would like.
Never mind I like it, and I hope that Leigh will as well.
I have cut and layered the image using my Nesties.
The papers are from my stash and I added a greeting and some peel-off squares which I covered in Glossy Accents.

Summer Sailing

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have had a great Saturday.
I guess that this had better be a very quick post, I have been having way too much fun finishing off cards that I started today in my class at Davina's.
It's far too dark to take pictures tonight so you will have to content with this card that I made for the young son of one of the customers at work.
He has been suffering with the chicken pox and so this was made to cheer him up, and also to wish him belated  birthday greetings.
I have used part of a lovely Penny Black stamp which I coloured with my trusty distress ink pads.
I used an EK Success punch across the bottom of the panel, and added some tiny peel-off dots and Card Candi.
You may have noticed that I am very into adding tiny dots to my work. Here I have added them to the Woodware greeting and around the mice.
The background papers are from my stash, and I made the card using the lovely sketch no43 at Freshly Made Sketches.
I added some Magnolia swirls around the edge of the green card and also some Frantage Embossing Enamel.
I have some more kids cards to make tomorrow as it is nearly time for the Twins birthday. I think I will break out a couple of my favourite Lili of the Valley die cuts for them.
Off to bed now before I get side tracked into finishing another card.
I've suddenly realized just how weather appropriate my card is. You are nearly able to sail across the bottom of our road with all the rain recently lol.
Night night

Snowdrops in a 'Freshly Made Sketch'

Evening Everyone.
Wow two posts in one day!
I have been busy all day making samples for next weekend at Port Sunlight.
Sometimes it is very difficult trying to come up with anything different, especially when you have a limited time to work with stamps that are similar in design, no matter how lovely they are to work with. With that in mind I decided that if I tried to tie my samples to a challenge or two it might help with the creativity......it worked.
The card tonight was made using the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
I have been working with several of the Decoupage stamps available from Imagination Craft as well as the Mica palettes which I will be working with at the show.
I stamped and embossed the image and then painted it with the mica palette using a very wet watercolour technique.
I cut the image out using an oval nestie and then mounted it over background papers from my stash.
The card candy was punched from some of the left over pieces and attached with silicon.
I hope that you will all be enjoying your long weekend.
I however will be at work as normal tomorrow so I had better get some sleep.
