Down on the Farm for Woodware

Hi All
Have you missed me?
My attempt to blog every day this year bit the dust last weekend when I must have fallen asleep before pressing publish.
It's amazing how, once the pressure was off, the choice between an early night and a blogpost became a bit of a no-brainer.
I am filling in for the lovely Pam  again this week over at the Woodware Blog where they are taking their inspiration 'On the Farm'.
I know that they have been having a few problems with the blog this week but please keep trying as I'm sure it will be back to normal soon.
I used a rather cute old stamp set to create my card along with a background created using another of the lovely Doobaadoo stencils, dye based ink and my Ebosser.
I stamped the farm animals onto some pink gingham paper and fussy cut them out before adding them to the cards using silicon for a little added dimension. I also added a bit of extra colour with some dye based inks and a white gelly roll pen.
I stamped a nice brick wall onto some kraft card for them to 'peek over'.
I also added a few extra bricks and the sentiments from the set.
I'm on a bit of a mission to use up all of the bits that I create when making a card instead of putting them to one side to use later. You know that later never comes and the 'To do pile' just gets bigger and bigger.
With this in mind I got a little bit carried away and ended up with three finished cards.
I couldn't decide which one I liked best, I even asked my Grandchildren, so I think that I will share the other two cards with you tomorrow, provided that I press publish of course.
Bye for now.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Tone on Tone at Woodware

Hi All
Over at the Woodware blog this week they are looking for Tone on Tone, and it is my turn to share as I am standing in for the lovely Pam who is recovering from a rather nasty car accident.
I stamped and embossed one of Jane Gill's fabulous stamps onto a piece of kraft coloured card and then painted the image with cheap thin bleach.
I then added a little more colour by painting with brown dye based ink and my trusty 700 sparkle pen.
I also added some glossy accents and tiny dots.
The background to the card has been created using one of the new Dutch DooBaDoo Stencils Pop Art, run through my Ebosser and then sponged, brushed and spritzed with more dye based ink, gilding wax and glimmer spray.
I added some wide organza ribbon and some nailheads.
It needed a sentiment so I created a piece of background by stamping with bleach and then added the sentiment on top of it.
Why not check out what the rest of the Girls have posted this week.
Bye for now.

We've All Gone Dotty at CCM&More

Evening Everyone,
We have started a new 'Dotty' challenge over at CCM&More today.
Our host Sally is looking for plenty of obvious dots in your creations.
I chose one of Jane Gill's fabulous stamps designed to work with Card Candi amongst other things.
I stamped and embossed it into the corner of my card,
before running it through my Ebosser along with two fabulously dotty stencils from Clarity,
one stencil on top of the other.
I sponged and brushed the background with a combination of blue and brown distress inks.
The stamped and embossed image has been painted with the same colours.
I also added some gilding wax, faux stitching and even some dotty Card Candi.
I hope that you will join us, and that you will pop across and show the rest of the team some love.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenge
Crafty Creations Challenge - Seeing Spots
Bye for now, happy crafting.

He's my Hero

Evening Everyone
The house is usual very quiet in the morning when I am getting ready for work, so I was a little curious on Friday as to what was going on upstairs in the twins room.
All was revealed as I left the house. My grandson Ciaran peered over the banisters as I opened the door and revealed the reason for the noise.
'A giant spider' was on the wall by his sister Saskia's bed.
Here he is posing with one from Halloween.
Now it is a well known fact that we are all wimps when it comes to spiders in our house. Call for Jason, the kids Dad to deal with them, or splat them if he is not around and it is left to me lol.
Ciaran is now officially my hero as he got a cup and a piece of card and put the spider out of the window.
I shall have to make him a badge - 'Official Spider Catcher'.
My Hero.
Saskia thinks he's kinda cool as well, at least for the moment anyway lol.
Bye for now.

Abracadabra.........

Evening,
Thank goodness that week has come to an end. I've been really stressed out at work so it will be great to relax tomorrow with a lovely class at Davina's.
Another quick card tonight using a piece of Gelli Plate/Creative Palette background.............
Penny Black leaf stamp and matching die................
and a 'Wizardy' topper from LOTV.
I could have done with a magic wand and a spell book this week, there are a few people that I would like to have turned in to frogs.
Never mind, maybe I can practice for next week........abracadabra.

Let them eat Cake

Evening Everyone,
Where did the sunshine go? Please don't tell me that I am going to have to reach for the thermals again lol.
I hope that you have had a lovely day anyway, what ever the weather has been like.
This is a card that I posted earlier this week for the daughter of an old friend.
Another fab LOTV topper and an embossed panel highlighted with Gilding Wax.
A quick and easy card idea, hope you like it.

Luck, Love, Success

Evening Everyone
Another glorious day here in the Surrey, and I had to go back to work.
Not that I would have been out in the garden anyway, but I could really have done without an extra 3 hours standing at the till. It was really busy as well with everyone buying stuff for their BBQ.
I am reliably informed that it has turned cold in New Zealand so it makes a change for our weather to be better than theirs lol.
Unfortunately the extra work has meant another totally uneventful crafting evening something that I really do not need. So here instead is the other sample that I made for German TV.
It uses another of Barbara's fabulous stencils which I ran through my Ebosser and coloured with dye based inks.
I added some fine black lines,
and some more gold gilding wax, although I'm not sure that you can see it here.
The tiny leaves have been die cut from some of the trimmings using some Impression Obsession dies.
The come in two different sizes, but I chose the smaller ones for this project.
Once again I have used the Boxed Alphabet and some German words.
Must finish now as I have a splitting headache which I need to shift before I start work all over again.

I'm hoping this says 'Just Because'

Evening Everyone.
Hasn't it been lovely and sunny today?
I even had to take my thermal vest off it got so warm, and that's more information than you needed to know isn't it?
Today Barbara was on German TV with some lovely new stencils and a Boxed Alphabet set.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch it, and anyway my grasp of the German language is totally non existent  so I even had to rely on Barbara for a list of suggested sentiments.
If I copied her suggestion correctly this should say 'Just Because', but then again I could be swearing at you and I wouldn't know lol.
I ran one of the stencils through my EBosser along with an old dottie one to create a frame and then sponged it with blue and green Distress Inks.
The flowers and foliage are die cut using some matching card stock that I found in my stash.
I also added a touch of gold to the stencilled card using gilding wax and a stencil brush.
I'm rather pleased with how it turned out, in fact I think I will make another as a picture frame which would make a fabulous gift for someone.
Let's hope that tomorrow is just as bright and sunny and that the thermals can be consigned to the drawer for another year.
Bye for now

With Fondest Love

Evening Everyone,
Well it is official.....I hate Mondays.
Not only does it herald the end of the weekend and the start of yet another week, but it also means that I am playing catch up with all of the tasks that the weekend and night staff seem incapable of doing Aaaaaarrgggh.
Oh dear, moan over, for today at least lol.
My card tonight is another using my favourite Alcohol and Acetate technique.

I chose some nice bright colours this time and added some stamped weeds to the acetate panel in black Stazon.
I also added a sentiment and some peel-off squares.
I really shouldn't moan as there are always people who are having a far worse time of things and this card is being sent to one such friend.
Have a great week.
Bye for now.

Paper Pieced Tilda

Evening Everyone,
Well there goes another weekend.
Will somebody please slow things down a bit before April disappears just as quickly as the rest of this year seems to have done.
I have been a good girl today and got caught up with some commenting as well as finishing a couple of DT cards.
I also finished this card for the daughter of a friend. She uses a rather old Tilda and a bit of Paper Piecing.
I matched her to some background papers from my stash and used my lovely new flower die, one of several purchases from my holiday at SirStampalot last month.
At this rate it will be Halloween before we know it and I will be heading up there again for my second visit of the year.
Better get some sleep now.
Bye for now.

A couple of Cuties

Evening Everyone,
Have you had a good day?
I confess that my start to my Christmas card making has been side tracked by a couple of fabulous new Hobby Art stamp sets which are destined for the TV very shortly.
Obviously I can't share them with you just yet, so you will have to be content with a couple of cute cards that I made for Jenny's last appearance a couple of weeks ago.
I stamped and embossed these cute little animals onto some pink paper and fussy cut them before adding them to the die cut LOVE.
The background was created using an embossing folder that makes this the perfect card for a new baby or small child's birthday.
I used the same images for this card but this time I used some blue background paper.
Again an embossing folder only this time I also used some die cut string. (Thanks Crafty Lou for pointing out this fabulous die)
I do hope that I can manage to get a couple more cards made tomorrow before the week starts all over again.
Till then, hugs Kimx

Christmas starts here!!!!

Evening Everyone,
Well it is the start of the weekend, and Christmas starts here, at least it does in my house.
I have taken delivery of a rather large box of new stamps which are destined for the new Woodware catalogue which will be released sometime in the Summer.
As hard as it may be to believe, it will be the Christmas 2015 catalogue and so my sample making for the next few weeks will be wholly Christmas orientated.
With this in mind I thought that I would share a few of the cards that I made last year.
They have all been made using the same two lovely Woodware Holly stamps and a variety of inkpads and handmade backgrounds

I had better go have a tidy up of my Craft space before I start my weekend Christmas marathon.
Happy Crafting and have a wonderful weekend.
