It's a Girl

Evening Everyone,
I really am having a rubbish week. My cold has kicked in big time, and all I feel like doing is sleep, not craft.
The one major highlight of my day however were the lastest scan pictures of my new Granddaughter.
I look forward with eager anticipation to meeting her at the beginning of August.
In the mean time I will take myself to bed and catch up on a couple of episodes of Poldark.

A Blue Fairy

Hi All
Have you had a good Monday?
Another quick card for a small person who comes into the garage.
A lovely LOTV topper, some glitter and a fabulous background stamp from Lavina Stamps.
Easy peasy lemon sqeezie as the kids would say lol.
Bye for now.

Pearlex Christmas Cards

Evening Everyone
Well it seems that Spring has definitely taken a back seat here in Surrey, in favour of the Monsoon.
I took numerous samples along to my Pearlex class yesterday including these Christmas cards made using some lovely Imagination Decoupage stamps.
The panel on each card has been made by stamping and embossing the image in either black or white and then painted using the 'Wet Watercolour Technique'.
The background card  on most of them has also been stamped with Versamark ink and brushed with dry powdered Pearlex.
Pearlex is always a favourite when I am making Christmas cards.
I have however failed miserably this year in my efforts to make some Christmas cards each month.  I think that I have only managed a total of five so far over three months, how rubbish is that?
I added some ribbon and a few pearls to this card.
And this one makes use of some background papers from my stash.
I wonder what the weather will bring tomorrow. No snow I hope although they do suggest that we could be in line for some over Easter!!
I would like to enter these in to the Anything Goes challenge over at Weekly Christmas Card Challenges.
Unfortunately I seem to have succumb to the cold bug that has been bouncing around everyone, both at home and at work. Just what I need. My bed is calling more than my craft table at the moment.
Bye for now.

Click your Heels Dorothy

Evening Everyone.
Another fabulous class at Davina's today, very quite though, they were all colouring in.
I took along an assortment of stamps including this fabulous shoe from Stampendous. How I wish I could still wear something like this, it is awesome.
I spent many years walking everywhere in 4inch heels. Backwards and forwards to the school three or four times a day with the children, most of the time pushing either a double buggy or a wheelchair. And now I can't even manage court shoes for more than an hour. The joys of getting older lol.
I coloured the image with a combination of Watercolour Pearlex and some red ink. I also added some glossy accents which I was too impatient to let dry before I took these pictures :O)
I sorted through my stash of bits to find some things that would go with the 'Steampunk' feel of the card and these were the best I could do.
The background has been made using a Dreamweaver Stencil, Gold Brilliance ink and some Gold Embossing Powder.
I also sponged the panel with Distress inks and then spritzed over it with a couple of Glimmer Mists. I covered the whole panel with scrunched up cling film and left it to dry which gave added texture to the background.
It is a shame that I didn't get to finish this earlier in the week as it would have been an ideal advertisement for the fabulous Making Texture Collaboration blog hop that has been going on between Stampendous/Woodware/Dreamweaver.
So many fabulous ideas using items produced by three fabulous companies.
Don't forget to change your clocks.
One hour less sleep tonight, now that is definitely something I could do without.
Still I suppose it shows that Spring is finally with us.
Get a good nights sleep. See you again tomorrow.

Birthday Bear

Hi All
While I was away on holiday one of my younger customers celebrated her 5th birthday.
I finally managed to catch up with her today and give her the card that I made for her.
I used one of my fab LOTV toppers and some hand made Gelli Plate background.
I added some Stardust glitter and Glossy Accents to the image, and cut it out using a Nestie.
I'm teaching tomorrow so that will be fun. Pearlex an old favourite product that never ceases to create amazing results.
Bye for now

Gelli Plate and Glimmer Mists

Evening Everyone,
What a day to go back to work. It was absolutely chucking it down this morning when I left.
I have to say that I am very glad to have been working inside, not a good day to be outside. And it would have been even better to have been able to stay in bed. Never mind.
Among my new acquisitions last week was a Large Round Gelli Plate.
Fabulous for making backgrounds to be used with my large Circular Nesties.
This particular piece of background was made using the Gelli Plate, some Glimmer Mists (another new purchase) and some Woodware stamps.
I spritzed the Glimmer Mists directly onto the Gelli Plate and then 'smooshed' a piece of cream card onto it.
Unfortunately it is not easy to capture all the beautiful shimmer that you get.
I have lots more pieces of background to use up so I can see lots more Circular cards coming up lol.
Bye for now.

Waxed Paper Resist

Hi All
Well they do say that all good things must come to an end so I suppose that it stands to reason that it would apply to holidays as well.
I have managed to get a couple of things finished today, although not as much as I would have liked, and I just know that tomorrow I am going to be absolutely shattered. Thank goodness it will be a VERY short week.
Here are a couple more cards that I sent out last week. They have both been made using the 'Waxed Paper Resist' technique.
The narrow panel on this card has been created using waxed paper, an embossing folder, glossy card stock, iron and dye based ink.
I added some stamped and embossed images to the kraft card background, and a sentiment stamped onto acetate and attached with brads.
This card also uses a piece of background created using the items listed above.
This time I have stamped and embossed directly onto the panel before mounting it onto a card base.
Oh dear, look at the time, so much for an early night. Better go.
Bye for now.

Late night blogging again

Evening Everyone,
Well it didn't take me long to fall back into late night blog posts now did it.
Last day of my holiday tomorrow so I have been trying to catch up on some DT work since the weekend, and failing miserably I have to admit.
I think I might be crafted out after last week.
I did pop into work briefly today, to buy milk, and to drop off this card for one of my colleagues who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow.
The background has been made using Alcohol inks, glossy card stock and a dotty embossing folder.
I added a panel of acetate stamped with black Stazon ink, some brads and a lovely Hobby Art sentiment.
I had better get to bed now. I think I ought to set my alarm tomorrow so that it isn't such a shock when I have to get up early on Thursday.
Bye for now.

Spring has Sprung at CCM&More

Afternoon Everyone,
What a beautiful sunny Monday it is. I even managed a trip to the shops without my coat, how fabulous is that?
We are starting a new challenge over at CCM&More where Marlene is our host.
She would like to see your Spring themed creations. So that could be a new life (baby) either animal or human, spring flowers, soft spring colours etc.
I chose to make a New Baby card for this challenge.
I have used one of my numerous LOTV toppers, cut out with a circular Nestie, and with some added glitter to the clouds.
The sentiments are also from LOTV.
The background paper is from one of the LOTV paper pads, and I added glossy accents to the buttons to make them look as if I had added them afterwards.
I would like to enter my card in to the following challenges
Alphabet Challenge - Cute and Cuddly
Kitty Bee Designs - Challenge 43 Baby
Simply Create Too - Easter or Bunnies
Enjoy the rest of your day, and don't forget to stop by and show the rest of the DT some love.
Bye for now

A Frantaged Flower

Evening Everyone,
Have you had a good Sunday?
Why is it that you always feel so tired after a holiday?
I have spent the day clearing up and putting away all of my new toys, but I have not felt in the least like doing anything creative with any of them. How weird is that?
Of course there were several birthday cards to send while I was away, so here is one of them.
The background was made using Glossy Card stock and Alcohol Inks.
The die is by Memeory Box, and has been heat embossed using Black Frantage Embossing Enamel.
The greeting is one of my favourites from Hobby Art.
Fortunately I have a couple of extra days holiday at home to look forward to, so I hope that I will be able to catch up with a few things.
Bye for now.

Thanks for the Holiday

Evening Everyone,
Well I'm all packed and ready to go home after my fabulous weeks holiday at SirStampalot.
Where on earth did that week go?
I made this card for Kay to say thank you for my 'shower voucher', but I would like to use it to say a huge thanks to Janice and Andy for having me to stay for the week, and to all the lovely people who came to visit me.
I have my dates booked for November, so I look forward to seeing you all again then.
Thanks again Janice and Andy I have had a brilliant time.
Off to the station.
Bye for now.

Did you get to watch the Eclipse?

Evening Everyone,
We took a little bit of time out this morning to watch the eclipse.
Andy sorted out a fabulous 'Heath Robinson' contraption that enabled us to safely see the eclipse.
We did get a few strange looks from passing traffic, although the post van actually stopped to watch us.
My pictures are not the best in the world, but at least I can say that I saw the eclipse, cause I really don't remember the last one in 1999. I was obviously busy that day lol.
Have a great evening. I can't believe that I will be travelling home tomorrow after my All Day Demo.
Maybe I will get to see some of you.
Till then.

Lets play with Woodware

Evening Everyone,
Wow what a foggy evening yesterday, and much the same this morning. A real 'peasouper' as my dear old Dad would have called it.
Not that the weather has bothered me at all this week as I am firmly closeted inside playing for England lol.
I am getting some exercise as I make Janice and Andy drop me at the local petrol station on our way to the unit and then I walk the last couple of miles.
I have had another fabulous day playing with some of the Gelli Plate backgrounds that I made in class yesterday, and also prepping for my class tomorrow evening.
Maybe you are free to join me we still have a couple of spaces.
We are going to be playing with some of the new Woodware stamps, so here are a few cards to inspire you. At least I hope they do anyway :O)
Off to dinner now, and then its back to playtime. It's a hard life this holiday lark isn't it lol.
Bye for now.

Multiple Resist Flowers.

Hi All
I've been having more fun playing with the Gelli Plate.
So much so that there is no time for photos before the ladies arrive for class so you will have to be content with this card that I sent a friend for her birthday on Sunday.
The background was made using the multiple resist technique, Hobby Art and Penny Black floral stamps.
I then heat embossed with a favourite Hobby Art stamp over the top in black.
I also dry embossed some dots on the right hand side and sanded them afterwards.
I added some dotty ribbon, a button and a rhinestone sparkler in the centre.
I dry embossed the left hand side of the card base with the same dotty folder.
Better get a shift on, people will be arriving soon and I still have the classroom to sort out.
Bye for now.

Gelli Play

Hi All
Are you well?
I can't believe that another day of my holiday is nearly at an end.
We are planning an early finish today as Andy needs to catch up on some Walking Dead episodes before the Sky box eats them, so I intend to have a very early night.
I have been playing with the Gelli Plate for the last couple of days in preparation for my class tomorrow evening.
They now do a circular one, so as you can see that just had to find its way into my stash.
This is a card that I have managed to finish from the huge stash of papers that I have managed to make in just a few hours play.
The background was inspired by some YouTube clips posted by the lovely Tracy from Lavinia Stamps. Like me she likes to work with dye based inks rather than acrylic paints. I really haven't mastered the art of working with paint yet. More play is needed I think and a few more views of tutorials from Barbara Gray.
I have used some Woodware clear stamps, Distress and Versafine inks to create the background on the Gelli Plate before the print is 'pulled'.
The Black images and sentiment have been added to the print to give added depth, and a finished feel.
Better get back to my playtime, only an hour to go before we start thinking of going home.
Bye for now.
