Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 55 - Colour challenge Brown, Cream and Pink

Hello All
Today is the launch of the new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.
It is Hosted by Vix who asks that you make an item (card/tag/altered thingy) using ONLY the colours Brown/Cream/Pink. You can use other colours for faces but otherwise just brown, cream and pink.
We are sponsored today by ONE STOP CARD CRAFTS who are offering a £10 voucher for their store as a prize.
I decided to steer away from cute and so who says Christmas has to be red and green?
My card uses a lovely Christmas Decoupage stamp from Imagination.
I have stamped the image onto several different pieces of paper from my stash and then cut and mounted them as illustrated.
I added some ribbon, vellum, a ribbon slider and some micro beads.
I just loved this colour combo.
In fact I liked it so much that I made a second card with some of the left over pieces.
This time I mounted it onto some brown gingham paper.
I used a small square punch to create this card candy.
Some different ribbon this time, but another ribbon slider.
I hope you have fun with this new challenge, I certainly did.
I look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
I am staying in Peterboro at the moment with the lovely Janice and Andy from Sir Stampalot.
We have managed another relatively early night again tonight but I am sure we will be back to our usual midnight finishes tomorrow.
I had better get to bed now so that I can make the most of it.
Don't forget to pop in and say hi at the shop, and of course don't forget to enter the challenge.
Nite, nite

Mojo Monday and Woodware Challenge

Hi All
I do love doing the challenges as it makes me look through my huge collection of stamps for something suitable.
This week the Woodware challenge is Spooks and Treats.
Now I don't have a lot of Halloween stamps and so this one was quite difficult for me since the ones that I do own are cute and made by a company that Woodware don't stock.
I made this card using one of the stamps from a Magenta cling set Nature Silhouette.
I have stamped the image three times and then sponged Distress inks over the embossed image. I spritzed the final panel with glimmer mist which unfortunately doesn't show up very well in the photograph.
This second card was made using another of the stamps from the set and a similar sponged ink technique. I have used an embossing folder on some background paper from my stash.
I love this stamp set and feel that it fits the bill quite nicely for the spooky part of the challenge.
I then realized that it was supposed to be Spooky Treats so I decided to make a small bag of Halloween goodies.

I decorated the front of the bag using the same stamped panel as the first card.
All of the items have been made using the lovely sketch over at Mojo Monday.

I showed the cards to Caz on Tuesday when she was at my house for a Stampin Up party and she seemed to think that they fit the challenge so I hope that you like them.

I must get to bed now. Its been a really long but wonderful day at Sir Stampalot where we have had the 4th Ultimate Rubber Stamping Show. I will try and share some piccies and samples tomorrow but for now it's good night from me.

Winging its way to Pakistan

Hi
Just a very quick post before I head off to bed.
This is a card that I made for one of the boys at work to send to his wife. In fact it is currently winging its way to Pakistan as we speak.
I have used a favourite stamp of mine and distress inks to create the main panel.
I spritzed it with Glimmer Mist which I think you can just about see in the photo.
The background papers are from my stash, and I have run the purple one through the cuttlebug before adding a little distress ink to highlight the embossing.
They have come to expect a few well placed flowers on their cards, so I didn't want to disappoint them.
The circular greeting is from Lili of the Valley.
Off to bed now, work beckons.
Lets hope my alarm goes off tomorrow I don't want a repeat of Friday morning when I woke up at exactly the time I should have been walking through the door at work. I have never been ready so quickly in all my life lol.
Nite nite

I did my homework Linda

Afternoon All
I hope  you are having a good weekend. Mine has been a definite improvement over last week, I have actually been vaguely creative although you will have to wait until the 31st before I can share it with you as it is for the next challenge over at CCM.
As I told you yesterday I had been set homework by one of the ladies on my class, so here it is!
Linda had made the piece of background paper with the inks that were left on her craft sheet after she had finished colouring. Unfortunately she didn't like it although I did, and so she told me to take it and do something with it!!!!!
Well I hope you like what I have come up with Linda.
The stamps I have used are from a new Hobby Art set which Jenny will be demoing on the TV just about now. It is called Autumn Scene It and is brand new. I love it, especially these poppies.
I have painted the poppies with distress inks and cut the panel out using a nestie. the greeting is from a Woodware set called Mixed Greetings.
We are having a Merlin catch up evening as it is the first time we have all been able to sit down and watch it together. I have to say its a bit dark as a kids program but we all love it.
Have a good evening.

Good Bye Lavender Lane xx

Evening Everyone
Today was my last ever class at Lavender Lane in Stoneleigh.
We had a lovely day using 2 different Hobby Art stamp sets, and I must confess to giving the ladies a sneak peek as to what Jenny will have on the TV tomorrow and Monday. (Sunday at 5pm and Monday 9am Create and Craft channel 671)
In the morning we used Snowy Christmas and decorators chalks and although this card was made using distress inks it was one of the samples that I shared with the ladies.
In the afternoon we used a different set Christmas House which was stamped, embossed and coloured.
This also enabled me to show the ladies how to make their own background paper using the ink left on their craft mats.
One of the ladies disliked the piece of background that she had created, even though I assured her that it would look completely different once it had been stamped on. Guess what, I ended up with homework!!
'If you like it so much Kim, you can take it home and do something with it.'
Well I have done my homework, unfortunately it got too dark to take any photos so you will have to check back tomorrow and see what I came up with.
I'm off to bed now, it's been a long and emotional day.
Nite nite

Woodware Challenge week 21 Blue Christmas

Evening Everyone
I'm having a seriously creatively challenged week I'm afraid and I can't help but feel like I'm letting loads of people down with my inactivity on the craft front.
Design work for Clarity just hasn't happened this month and now I've just been sitting staring at the stamps from Hobby Art instead of getting on and making cards. Don't get me wrong it's not that I don't like them its just that life seems to have got in the way and sapped my creative spirit.
It is a good job I have a huge drawer full of cards made over the years or people wouldn't be getting birthday cards this month.
As you know I always like to enter the challenge over at Woodware and so I looked through my Christmas cards to see if I had anything that might fit the bill this week where the challenge is 'Blue Christmas'. I did manage to find a couple of cards to share with you.
It's a shame I didn't know before or I could have entered the card that I posted for the challenge over at Stampendous where it is Clean and Simple.
The card above actually uses the same stamp Peace Window which has been stamped and embossed and then sponged with dye based inks. The dove has been painted with bleach. The background paper is handmade using black glossy card stock and pearlex acrylic paint.
The second card is made using a similar technique but this time I have used a Magenta stamp Christmas Stockings, dye based ink and some bleach.
This last card is predominately blue :) This time I have used the dye based inks and water coloured the image.
All the cards are quite small since they have been made using some of those little left over pieces from previous projects that we all seem to have a box full of lol.
I'm hoping that I will find my mojo tomorrow so that I can at least deliver a couple of cards to Jenny on Thursday. Unfortunately I still have to go to work so it is not looking too hopeful.
Hope you are having a better week than me.
Love and hugs

CCM Challenge 54 Cute with a Dark Twist

Hello All
Today is the launch of the new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.
I can't believe how many entries we had for the last challenge, I'm so glad that I didn't have to choose the winners lol.
This time the challenge is Cute with a Dark Twist and we have been sponsored by Joanna Sheen.
This card was actually made for my daughter Becki's birthday on the 14th of October. She has always liked things a little bit dark and Gothic so this fitted her perfectly as well as fitting into the challenge. The cat and mouse are most definitely cute and even the bats and spider aren't too bad.
It is of course an Easel card which is a favourite of mine if the card needs to be a little bit special.
The background has been created using Weathered Wood and Stormy Sky distress inks and some glimmer mist. The trees and flock of birds are by Clarity.

I have used stamps from Penny Black Spooky and Trick or Treat T for Transparent sets

Time to celebrate is from Lili of the Valley.
The Internet has definitely had it in for me today as I have tried to post this twice without success, lets hope its third time lucky lol.
Don't forget to join in and let us see all your wonderful ideas.
Love and hugs

Just in time for the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge!

Hello again,
This really is an incredibly quick post as I happened to notice that the challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches finishes in just over an hour and I made this card using their lovely sketch.
The card has been made for my friend at work to send to Pakistan. I have cut out a Lili of the Valley die cut image using a nestie, and mounted it over a square of Penny Black background paper. The greeting is also from Lili of the Valley. All of the background papers are from my stash, and I have used a favourite Martha Stewart punch to create the layered panel across the centre of the card.
The flowers are also from my stash with some punched and dye cut leaves added.
I really must get to bed now, I have to be up for work in only a few hours lol.
Nite nite

Stampendous Challenge - Clean and Simple

Evening All
The challenge this month over at Stampendous is Clean and Simple. Now I find that quite hard so these cards are the nearest I could get. I hope you like them.
They both use a fairly old stamp, now available in cling called Peace Window. I have coloured the image with distress inks and then painted the dove with bleach.
I have layered the stamped image onto a piece of cuttlebugged blue card and some peel-off lines. The tiny leaves around the top edge of the card are from a Woodware set Flower Frames JRCL308. I also covered the dove in glossy accents.
The second card is made using the same stamp, but has a completely different look. Again I used distress inks and painted the dove with bleach.
I added a stitched border to the panel before mounting it over some background paper from my stash and a a piece of paper punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.
Of course I added a little bit of bling to this one.
Don't forget to check in at Crafty Cardmakers tomorrow for the latest challenge.
Love and hugs

No one wanted my prize then ............

Evening Everyone
Well I can only assume that you all already have the lovely Stampendous Agapanthus stamp that I was giving away as a prize, since no one came through with an answer to my question as to which stamp was featured in this card.
Just so you know, it is indeed by Stampendous, as I suspected, and is from a discontinued wooden set called Stitched Mums SWS009.
Thank you Dorothy over at Woodware for that.
Oh well I shall just have to hang onto it for another time, or some other worthwhile recipient.
Tomorrow evening I will be teaching at Davina's in Purley.
We will be using the Snowy Christmas set from Hobby Art and chalks.
This is one of the cards that I made for Jenny's TV show and I have borrowed it back for the class tomorrow.
I've added a little glitter glue to the snowflakes and a Martha Stewart punched border.
Other samples using this set can be found HERE.
I had better go and iron my uniform ready for work tomorrow. Back to the grind, how quickly these last few days have gone by.
Love and hugs

Sketch Saturday Week 176

Morning All
Just a quick post, I have one last day off, so I want to make the most of it, but I also have loads of cards to share. So here goes with the first one.
This was made for the challenge over at Sketch Saturday.
It has been made using Penny Black 4210K Floral Story, one of the lovely stamps sent to me by Janice and Andy for me to make samples with. The greeting is from Hobby Art.
I stamped and embossed the image and painted it using distress inks. Once it has been cut out I distressed the edges.
The pale blue panel has been made handmade using distress inks (see post HERE for instructions)
I have added a nestied panel, some stamping using Hero Arts F5042 Leaf Flourish, stitching and pearls.
The dots in the corner are actually peel-offs with glossy accents added.
Back to the card making I think.
I decided that I was going to take a break from all things DT for a few days, in a bid to recharge the batteries. I don't know if it has worked but I have managed to finish 20 more Christmas cards. Eat your heart out Mrs Till lol.
I'll try and stop back later.
Have a great day.

Woodware Challenge - Look what I did with Fun Flock

Hi All
The challenge this week over at Woodware is to use flock on your creation.
Now I know I have some somewhere, but do you think that I can find it!!!!
What I could find however was a card that I made some time ago for the Q and A page in one of the magazines.
By happy accident the stamp I have used is by Magenta which are available through Woodware. The stamp is called Ornamental Pattern 14.549.L.
You can clearly see the white flock in this picture. I have stamped the image repeatedly onto vellum and then embossed it with Stamp N Bond, a sticky embossing powder. Once it is heated pour the flock over the image and it will stick to it.
The central image on the red has also been stamped and embossed with Stamp and Bond only this time I have applied Gold Pearlex powder and then gently pressed gold foil over the image. As you can see the foil adds a hint of WOW.
A greeting, (Stampendous I think) and some peel-off borders finish things off.
I'm off to enjoy what's left of my birthday with another slice of cake and a coffee, the diet can start tomorrow me thinks lol.
Now which boxed set shall I watch while I indulge? Criminal Minds Season 5 or Lie to Me Season 2. What a choice. Wasn't I a lucky girl to get both for my birthday. I think Criminal Minds wins, just.
Nite nite all
Love and hugs
