A Masking Class at Davina's

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have had a lovely Easter Sunday, and are not too full of chocolate.
I am feeling absolutely stuffed and really quite uncomfortable, that will teach me to overindulge.
We had a fantastic class yesterday at Davina's.
I was teaching them some basic masking using a couple of lovely floral stamp sets from Woodware JGCL572 Daisy Layers and JGCL559 Dotty Flower Trio.
We also made use of the new A4 Masking sheets from Stix2.
The panel on this card has been coloured using Distress inks with a little added sparkle from my favourite Gelly Roll pen 700 Clear Star. Sorry it doesn't show up very well in the photos.
The sentiment is from a Hobby Art stamp set Scene It Sentiments.
The coloured card stock is Co-Ordinations which is fabulous when sanded. I have used an EK Success punch and an embossing folder as well as a little ribbon, white glaze pen, fine black pen, glossy accents and some clear gems.
As usual we made a tag to add to their book.
This was my original tag. The card was made from the one that I made in class to show them the technique.
As you can see they were all very busy, it is always so quiet when everyone is colouring in.
I can't believe how quickly today has gone. I hate it when the clocks go forward, it seems to make the weekend so short. I have remembered to change my clock. I wonder how many people forgot and were late for work today?
Better get to bed and sleep off some of this chocolate. I know exercise would be better for me but I never said I was a good girl did I lol.

Happy Wedding Day

Evening Everyone
What has it been like your way today? We seem to have had just about all possible weather combinations today, except glorious sunshine that is!!
I do hope that any stray sunbeams managed to find themselves shining over Leeds Castle in Kent today, where my best friend Suu was watching her daughter get married.
Suu and I spent several days last year making the invitations and so I used the same flower dies to make a card for her to give the happy couple.
The central image is a romantic Magenta stamp which I have stamped and embossed in gold on cream card stock.
I did a little bit of decoupage with some gold card stock and some of the hearts.
I made it as an Easel card which was impossible to photograph except in two parts.
The flowers and swirls are DooHickey dies cut from gold card stock and gold embossed paper.
'Happy Wedding Day' and
'Always and Forever' are from a clear stamp set that I have had for ages.
I added plenty of pearls, ribbon and  lace and a little bit of sparkle with a ribbon slider.
The gold leaves are also cut from gold card using another DooHickey.
The stamping on the cream card has been done with two of my favourite things, Hero Arts Leafy Swirl and Aged Ivory Frantage powder.
I hope that Thyra and Jon have had a fabulous day along with all their guests.
I wish them much love and many happy years together.

Happy Birthday Jenny

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have a great day. I thought that we might have been busy at work today, but it has been absolutely mental from about 10am onwards. Apparently all of the local supermarkets had run out of Easter Eggs so everyone was coming to us. Who leaves it to the last minute and then moans that they can't get what they want :O)
And the power of a TV ad is just amazing, everyone was after the M and S chocolate Hot Cross Buns. Well they are quite tasty it has to be said, but I still prefer the traditional ones.
I have a class at Davina's tomorrow, and another birthday card to deliver.
This was made for Jenny one of the lovely ladies that come to all of my classes in Purley.
I think that it is suitably colourful, and should add some cheer to the dreary weather that we are having at the moment.
I have to finish the tag for tomorrows class yet so I had better get some sleep so that I can start afresh in the morning.

A card from Kay

Evening Everyone
I hope that you are now all looking forward to the Easter weekend.
I will be at work as normal tomorrow where no doubt we will be selling mega amounts of Easter Eggs.
I am still struggling creatively at the moment so I thought that you might like to see the fantastic card that Kay made me to accompany my 'Shower Voucher'.
Isn't it fabulous. I love the vases and the sponged ledges that they sit on.
Have a great Good Friday.

First Day Back

Evening Everyone.
Well I have survived my first day back at work, why is it always such hard work after a holiday??
I must confess that I did nod off this afternoon after lunch. Nearly covered myself in coffee which wouldn't have been a good plan lol.
This is another of the Punched Window Cards that I made for my class last week at SirStampalot.
The main image is a Penny Black cling stamp 40-208 Sweetness which has been stamped and embossed using Versamark ink and white Embossing Powder.
The colouring has been done using Distress Markers and a waterbrush.
The central panel has been removed using a Nestie and replaced with a sentiment from Hobby Art.
I do love these solid image stamps, they are always the first ones to draw me in whenever I see a new catalogue.
I think I had better get an early night if I am going to make it through tomorrow. Thank goodness it will be a very short week for me. Roll on Friday lol.

A very belated Birthday

Evening Everyone,
Here is another of my extremely belatedly delivered Birthday cards.
This one I gave to my 'Crafty Friend' Sue whose birthday was actually on Mother's Day.
I made it using a couple of stamps made by Hobby Art, let's hope that it was seen as better late than never.
Everything will go back to normal tomorrow as my holiday is finally finished, so I guess that I had better get some sleep, it's hard enough to get up on a normal day without it being the first day after a weeks holiday.
Night night

Just to Say.........

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have a good Monday.
I have managed to do a little more sorting and have finished some cards ready to send to friends.
I have been absolutely rubbish at sending cards to people while I have been away, which is silly really given that SirStampalot have a postal collection every day!!
This is one that is heading off to a friend whose birthday I am now far too late for.
The stamp is from Outlines and has been stamped and embossed onto a piece of handmade background paper. The colouring has been done using Gelly Roll glaze pens.
I hope she likes it.

It's a 'Twofer' class!!

Evening Everyone
How are you all?
I have been very 'uncrafty' today, apart, that is, from putting away and tidying up after my hols.
I even managed to sort through some boxes of paper scraps and start a box for the Craft club at the School my Grandchildren attend.
My card tonight is from the last class that I taught whilst I was at SirStampalot
We jokingly referred to it as a 'Twofer Class', because you got two card ideas for the price of one!
The class was actually to teach the Punched Window Card technique (as learnt from Technique Time  Tuesday).
I coloured the panel with Distress Markers, cut the window with a nestie, and added some Faux Stitching.
I used a Dainty Dots M-Bossabilities folder to emboss the panel, but I managed to put the panel in the folder the wrong way round. I actually quite like this de-bossed effect.
As I don't like to waste anything, I turned the punched centre from my first card into a 'Spotlight' card. Hence the 'Twofer' of the title!!
I added a Woodware sentiment, some ribbon and extra coloured flowers as well as some stitching and gems.
Amazingly enough this was coloured before I saw the wonderful background paper that I have also used. It could have been made to match, but was just one of those very happy accidents.
I hope that the guys are coping in the tea making department without me.
We always joke that the toilet paper usage halves once I leave when they only managing to make 3 cups of tea in a day instead of the one per hour that I plied them with lol.
I will get a lie in again tomorrow as I still have a couple of days holiday left before I return to work. I do need them after my intensive week of late nights and early starts.
I have a couple of commissions to work on so I am hoping that I might find some inspiration from somewhere tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend.

A safe journey home

Evening Everyone.
Well I am home safe and sound despite the blizzard conditions in Peterboro, proof positive that I have absolutely no influence in the weather department.
We even managed to have quite a few visitors to ask me questions at the Q and A in the shop earlier today.
At one stage it did look like I was going to be all on my own, but people braved the awful weather to come and shop, we crafters are very resilient creatures when it comes to getting our crafty fix.
This has been my play area for the past week.
I was reasonably productive in my card making,
but my demo table is no tidier than my craft table at home.
Will have to unpack tomorrow as I am far too tired now.
Night, night

Punched Window Card Class at SirStampalot

Evening Everyone,
Here we are at the end of another week.
I can't believe that there is only one more sleep till my holiday is finished and I have to go home.
As much as I have enjoyed my stay here I do hope that the snow holds off until Sunday as I'm not sure that my Boss, or my bank balance, would accept me staying any longer.
Still November will be here before we know it lol.
I had another full class this evening where I taught the ladies Punched Window Cards, an idea that I picked up from the Technique Time Tuesday blog run by my lovely Teamie Mynnette.
The image at the center of the card has been stamped and embossed using white embossing powder and then the flowers have been coloured using Distress Inks.
The image is from a fabulous Penny Black cling set Every Happiness.
Definitely my kind of stamp set, and one of the first things to leap into my basket lol.
I have a Q and A session in store tomorrow instead of the usual demo so I am hoping that I don't get too many questions that I can't answer.
I know that several of the ladies that have been on my classes are coming back to see me with products that they are not sure how to use so tomorrow will be all about playing. Can't wait :O)
Better get some sleep I suppose, and then I will have to finish packing in the morning.
Night, night.

Lavender and Lace at Woodware

Evening Everyone,
I hope you are all well and warm.
I have had another lovely day at SirStampalot.
Chris and Mel from the DT arrived to play in the studio, and we have had a wonderful time sharing ideas, coffee and biscuits. I am going to be the size of a house by the time I get home lol.
I have also been treated to a 'shower voucher' by one of Janice's customers.
I can't wash my hair while I am up here since the flat doesn't have a shower attachment in the bathroom, and I really can't be bothered to use a jug.
Last time I was here Kay invited me to her house lto use her shower, and now it has become part and parcel of my visit lol. She even made me a lovely card with a voucher inside.
I have managed to be creative amongst all the talking and tea making, although I did have to wait for the Woodware order to arrive so that I could finish tonight's card, as I didn't have any lace with me.
The theme this week at Woodware  is Lavender and Lace and so I made this card to enter the challenge.
The main image is another of the new designs from Jane Gill. I didn't have suitable colours with me, and my shopping basket is large enough as it is so I decided to try my hand at colouring with Janice's Copics.
Not the best shading in the world, but not too bad for a first attempt.
I do have to admit that I still prefer my dye based inks to colour with, but the colours in the Distress Markers and inks were just not right at all for this challenge.
I found some lovely papers in the shop for the background, and added some Faux Stitching and a punched border, but it needed some lace, so I had to wait for that to arrive.
I also found some lovely buttons from Woodware which matched perfectly.
I have another class to teach tomorrow evening so I need to finish a couple more samples in the morning.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check out the challenge HERE.

Kim's Coppice

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you are all well, I am still enjoying my crafty holiday at SirStampalot.
Another wonderfully productive day on the card making front, and lots of yummy new papers arrived in store so the shopping was pretty productive too lol.
This is another of the samples that I made for my Bargello class on Tuesday.
Believe it or not, the papers are from the same range as I used for yesterdays card. They are all double sided so it is amazing what a difference it makes by using the reverse of the paper.
The stamp is another of the new clear stamp sets available from Woodware.
This one is actually called Kim's Coppice, and was designed by Jane Gill.
Jane was my lift to the retailers days last year and we did some brainstorming for new stamp designs as we drove so I would like to think that the inspiration for this set came from one of my ideas, hence the name.
I will have to confirm this with Jane though :O)
The sentiment is all part of the set so it is very good value.
I can see that it has got very late again so I had better close. I can't believe that it will be Thursday tomorrow and nearly time for me to go home. Time certainly does fly when you are having fun!!

A little bit of Bargello

Evening All,
Hope that you have had a good day and that it has not been too cold in your neck of the woods.
We have had to scrape ice off the windscreen both this morning and this evening, but at least there is no snow...........yet.
I had a lovely class this evening here at SirStampalot where I taught the girls the Bargello Technique as learnt from Technique Time Tuesday.
Thanks Mynnette it's a fabulous technique :O)
I chose papers from the store,
and added a stamped and embossed image,
 a sentiment,
and some torn vellum.
It is still amazing to see how everyone ends up with such different work given that they all used the same box of coloured paper strips.
This technique is a fantastic way of using up some of those strips of paper that are just too nice to throw away, but are too small to make a card out of.
Admit it girls you have a box full of bits just like that at home don't you??
I also showed them how to create the faux stitching around the edge of the panel.
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, and there was much retail therapy at the end of class as well as chocolate Swiss roll during it. Thank you for the cake Anne, it was much appreciated.
Off to bed now, another day of crafting awaits tomorrow.
Hugs Kimx
