Wishing You Every Happiness

Evening Everyone,
Wow, what a day it has been, full of torrential rain. This type of weather seems to have become typical for a Bank Holiday Monday.
Today would have been my son Adam's birthday, and I can assure you that we were in the middle of a heat wave 34 years ago.
By co-incidence today is also my cousins birthday, and so I thought that I would share the card that I sent her.
It was made using various bits and pieces from my 'To Finish' box.
The leaf panel is from a fabulous set which I have stamped and embossed using white embossing powder, and coloured with Bundled Sage Distress ink.
The aperture panel has also been sponged and stamped with Bundled Sage ink and then some faux stitching and brads have been added.
Let's hope that the weather picks up a bit tomorrow. The kids have only got a few days till they go back to school, and it would be such a shame if they had to be spent indoors.
Happy Birthday Adam, we miss you.

No Patterned Papers at CCM&More

Hello All
I'm sorry, I've done it again. Added my card to the CCM&More challenge and then not been able to get on the Internet since. Well not on my laptop anyway.
I threatened it yesterday evening, taking it to my computer friend to fix, and lo and behold it was working this morning!!
Joe you rock as the ultimate threat to all things computer in my world.
Anyway, here is the card that I made for the challenge which is hosted by our fabulous Boss Lin
The challenge that she set is No Patterned Papers in your creations.
I made this card for a friend to give to her daughter using one of my LOTV toppers.
I cut it out using circular nesties and then layered it over various die cuts.
I also added some tiny pearls and a chip board number.
Please stop by and see what the rest of the team have made, there are some stunning samples. In fact Lin's card has made me want to add a couple more dies to my collection, as if I need any.
Also we are holding a DT call, so if you fancy being part of a fabulously laid back team please just add DT to your entry name.
I had better go and do some commenting now before the Internet disappears on me again lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

Texture, Texture, Texture at Woodware

Hello All
I'm helping out over on the Woodware blog again this week, and this time they are looking for Texture, Texture, Texture.
The card was made this Sunday (nothing like being last minute lol), where the weather in our neck of the woods felt more like Autumn than Summer, so perhaps that is where my inspiration came from.
I used one of the fabulous Doobadoo stencils for the background, along with some dye based inks....
clear embossing powder and gilding wax in gold and bronze.
The leaves have been created using the same coloured inks and two layers of UTEE. This was then  stamped into with the Stampendous leaf stamp while the UTEE was still hot and molten.
It doesn't affect the stamps but gives wonderful texture to the stamped image which I then carefully cut around.
The main card was made using a sheet of linen card. I rubbed the same inkpads around the edges of the card which helped pick up all the fabulous texture of the linen.
The bow has been created from some threads pulled from a Jute fabric square, layered over a couple of skeleton leaves and finished off with a wooden button.
Having sent the pictures to Dorothy I decided that perhaps the card looked better with a greeting.
What do you think?
Have a good day. Let's hope that by the time you read this the weather will have changed back to the glorious sunshine that we had on Saturday, even if it was a little bit too hot for me.
Never satisfied are we lol.
Bye for now.

Thinking of Your on your 100th Birthday

Evening All
Isn't it amazing the things that you can learn about people in a two minute conversation whilst they are paying for their fuel.
During one such moment at the beginning of the year I discovered that a special lady would be celebrating her 100th birthday today.
Unfortunately she didn't quite make it, but her family will be celebrating regardless with a visit to her graveside and then a glass raised in her honour at the local pub.
I wanted them to know that I hadn't forgotten her either, so I made this card.
The background is a piece of 'cleanup paper' after a Gelli Plate session.
I added some lovely stamped images, faux stitching and a little bit of bling.
Today is also my Nephews birthday so I will raise a glass (of squash) in his honour as well.
Night night All, sleep well

Mechanical Cards at Woodware

Hi All
This week the Girls at Woodware are looking at Mechanical Cards, and I am thrilled to have been asked to help them out.
I really wasn't sure what Dorothy expected so this is my take on the theme.
I have created the background to my card using a fabulous Gears stencil from Dreamweaver, some silver Gilding Wax and a stencil brush.
I love this shoe stamp from Stampendous.
I so wish that I were still able to wear a pair of shoes that looked this good.
What ever happened to the 4 inch heels that I used to wear all the time when the kids were small.
I have watercoloured the image with dye based ink and then added silver and gold Gelli Roll Glaze pen and some Glossy Accents on the clock face..
I created an extra couple of panels using the Gears stencil and my Cuttlebug and then brushed them with more silver Gilding Wax
I cut out some of the cogs using circular punches and added them to the card.
I hope that you like the card.
I wonder what the Team come up with for the rest of the week.
Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Warm Summer Colours at CCM&More

Evening Everyone,
Well I have surprised myself and remembered to post my card for the new CCM&More challenge, even if it is a little late in the day, and I've nearly thrown the computer across the room trying to get it written.
Our theme this time is warm Summer colours and so I have chosen to share this card that I made for a friend of my Mum after she fell and broke her hip.
It uses one of my all time favourite stamps from Stampendous, Versamark ink  and Decorating chalks.
I matched the panel to some background papers from my stash.
I'm sorry that this is rather short and sweet, but it has taken me an hour and a half to get this much done, so I am going to quit while I am ahead.
Hope you enjoy the challenge, and don't forget to check out what the rest of the team have come up with.

Welcome to the World Miss Tickle

Hi All
Wow, where have the last couple of months gone to?
Thank you to all of my regular visitors who have expressed concern at my absence.
I have found it very hard to get motivated recently as my youngest daughter reached the final stages of her pregnancy. It has been beset with problems, all a bit of a worry, and as she is no longer just round the corner I have found it very hard to settle.
I am now pleased to say that my beautiful Granddaughter Emma Reygate Tickle arrived safely on Tuesday 28th July at 2.23pm, weighing a healthy 7lb 14oz, and that I was there to witness her arrival - well up the nice end at least lol.
I wouldn't have missed it for the world, and can now say that I have been at the birth of both my daughters first children, a very special gift, and moments that I will treasure forever.
Unfortunately all my best photos are on my new phone so I'm afraid these will have to do. I am sooooo glad that I finally dragged myself into the 21st century, even if I haven't quite got to grips with the technical bits lol.
They came to visit this weekend, so all my crafty plans went out of the window, but who cares when you get to cuddle such a cutie!!
The new challenge starts on the CCM&More blog tomorrow so I really must get my act together and find the time to actually post my card on my blog instead of leaving it in draft :O)
