Bluebell Wood

Evening Everyone,
Late again with my post. I confess to a granny nap this afternoon that went on a little longer than anticipated lol.
So with time of the essence, here is a quick post with another of the cards that I made for Hobby Art Jenny's last TV appearance this time using the Bluebell Wood set.
I made it as a 'Thinking of You' card, but it could just as easily be a Birthday card for a man.
The background is from my bits box and was made using a wood grain embossing folder and distress inks. I added some fussy cut leaves, also part of the stamp set.
The trees and bluebells were stamped, embossed and coloured onto the piece of background and then a faux stitched border was added using a micron pen.
Better get to bed now, I have a busy day of crafty playtime to look forward to tomorrow.

A Little Birdie Told Me.......

Evening Everyone
I really am getting very bored with this cold weather. I feel a bit like the Michelin Man at work.......thermal underwear, cardigan, scarf and fingerless gloves, very attractive lol.
I thought that these cards that I made for Hobby Art Jenny's last TV show might have a rather warmer feel to them and put us in the mood for some nice spring weather.
I love this fabulous little bird (actually a very nice sized foam mounted rubber stamp). I stamped and embossed him onto Watercolour card and then fussy cut and layered him onto a piece of handmade background paper.
I have used some bits of background left over from my Watercolour Embossing Folders class. The sentiment which is from another of the TV sets matches perfectly.
These last two cards use more pieces of background and another couple of the sentiment stamps.

The little leaves and flowers are also part of the sentiment stamp set. A very useful addition.
Thank goodness it is Friday tomorrow, that means a couple of days at home in the warm to look forward to, with a little crafting as well.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Little Bit of Playtime

Evening Everyone,
I have finally managed to get some playtime with out my little helper, although I must admit I have missed her today.
The Girls have asked to play with some fantastic Inkspirational Grungy style stamps by Phill Martin which found there way in to my shopping basket before Christmas.
I haven't had the chance to turn them into cards yet, but here are a few of the ideas that I have been playing around with.
I will share them properly with you as soon as I have finished them, so for now consider this a sneek peek.

Watercolour Diamonds

Evening Everyone,
Got a few cards for you tonight that all use the fabulous diamond background stamp from Art Impressions.
This first card was given to Emma's Daddy for his birthday last week.
I inked the background stamp with Distress Inks and then spritzed with water before stamping onto watercolour card stock.
Once the panel was dry I stamped and embossed the tree onto it as well as a couple of rather grungy borders.
The beauty of this watercolour technique is that by spritzing with a little more water you can get at least one more impression from your stamp without reinking.
The background to this card uses the first generation stamping and the tree card uses the second.
The panel on this card uses the second generation stamping of the pine panel.
Here is another card using the diamond background and a floral stamp designed by Jane Gill.
The background panel on this card has been created using a leafy stamp which has been heat embossed onto a piece of brown card stock and then highlighted with Gilding Wax.
This card uses another second generation diamond panel.
As you can see I rather like this stamp, in fact I am sure I must have a few more stamped images in my bits box.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a good evening.
Happy Crafting and Hugs

New Beginnings at CraftyCardmakers.

Evening Everyone,
We have a new challenge starting today over at CCM, and some wonderful new Teamies as well.
As it is the first challenge of 2017, we have an appropriately themed 'New Beginnings', so we would like to see your creations related to the arrival of a new baby, a new relationship, marriage, engagement, maybe even a New Years resolution.......anything new.
I decided to go with New Home.
I have two old friends who have recently moved after many years in their family homes, so this was the perfect challenge for me.
I have used a lovely Magnolia stamped scene Y0056 Welcome to a Lovely Home stamped and embossed onto watercolour card, and then coloured using Distress Inks.
The background has been created using an embossing folder that looks like a plank of wood.........very appropriate.
I added some Wink of Stella to the sky although it doesn't show up very well.
The sentiment is from a very useful Hobby Art CS016D Greetings stamp set.
I made two cards the same apart from the colouring on the panel.
I hope that you will join in with us over the next fortnight with your 'New Beginnings', and don't forget to stop by and show the new team some love.
Thanks for visiting.

My Little Helpmate

Evening,
Well I am definitely flavour of the day with Emma.
I finally managed to narrow down my list for the winners of my challenge, and was looking forward to some crafty playtime today, but Emma had other ideas.
I started the day watching her swimming lesson which was brilliant,

and then she hasn't wanted to leave my side for most of the day which has also been a joy.

Of course it has meant that crafting has taken a back seat, but as I have said before they are small for such a short space of time that I will make the most of being her 'bestest' friend and leaving blogging, and crafting for another day............hopefully tomorrow lol.

I'm late as usual

Crikey where did this year go to?
I am in full blown panic mode tonight as I have just realized that I am supposed to have chosen the  winners for my CCM challenge and as usual I have left it till the last possible moment, not deliberately I hasten to add.
So forgive me for no pictures I have to go and be 'judgy' and narrow down my very long list of
possibles.
See you tomorrow.

With a little help.....

Evening All,
I really don't like this weather. Apart from anything else I'm always terrified of falling over on the snow and ice.
At least most of the white stuff seems to have disappeared around us and I for one hope it stays away too.
I have had a little helper this afternoon.
Mummy wanted to make a card for Emma to give Daddy for his birthday.
I stamped out the fabulous Woodware Huge Happy Birthday and then Becki gave Emma some crayons and she coloured it in all on her own.
I let Becki loose in my craft room so that she could choose some bits and pieces,
and then Emma helped me put it all together as per Mummy's instructions.
It was a bit of a joint effort, but I think Mummy was pleased with the end results.
They didn't manage to get home to see Daddy on his birthday because of the snow but they have finally managed it tonight so I think he will have some well deserved Emma time...........so long as she is playing the game that is. You know what kids are like, your best friends one minute, hate you the next, even at the tender age of one lol.
I'm hoping that the white stuff stays away otherwise we might not be able to get together for class tomorrow.
Have a great weekend.

The weathermen got it right, for once.

Evening Everyone.
OMG for once the weather men got it right.
We have several inches of snow here, and the kids, big and small, have been out playing in it while I stayed nice and warm babysitting Emma.
Unfortunately her Dad has spent what is left of his birthday stuck on the motorway trying to get home. He is not a happy bunny at all. We have told him that he will have to be like the queen and have a second birthday of his choosing.
Of course all of this has meant no time for blogging so you will have to forgive me and join me again tomorrow.
The kids are all hoping that the schools will be closed tomorrow. I on the other hand will have no such excuse given that I work 3 minutes away from where I live.
Night night

Sticky Embossing with Foil and Mica

Evening Everyone,
The Girls have chosen to play with Sticky Embossing Powder, Foils and Mica Powders in class on Saturday.
I haven't played with this technique in a long time so it will be nice to revisit an old favourite.
These are a few cards that I found in my stash that I will be taking with me on Saturday
You can see the foil quite nicely in this picture.
It is lovely to mix the Mica powders with the foil because the powder fills in any gaps and takes away the rather sticky feel to the foiled panels.
I don't think there is any foiling on this card, but it was the same stamp so I thought that I would share it.
You can even use your stencils and a Versamark ink pad to create your image. This stencil was designed by my good friend Anna.
As you can see it works really well on Kraft card, so I must remember to add some of that to my class prep box.
Must go now. I need to set up my Sky box for Hobby Art Jenny's TV appearances tomorrow on Hochanda Sky channel 663 at 10am, 3pm and 6pm.
Hope you enjoy the shows, there are some fabulous stamp sets on them as usual.
Night, night.

Spot the Deliberate Mistake

Afternoon All,
Have you ever made a card for someone and then been mortifies to find, after you have handed it over, that you have spelt their name wrong!!
I had that happen to me just before Christmas when I made my usual card for 'Boss' to give to his daughter.
It was only as I downloaded the photographs that I noticed that I had spelt Ledshajini's name wrong.

I rushed into work the following morning full of apologies for my stupidity, only to discover that neither 'Boss', nor his daughter had spotted my mistake. Boy did that make me feel a whole heap better.
I used a lovely floral heart stamp as the main focus on the card.

I coloured it to match the background paper and added die cut leaves and branches along with a Birthday greeting..
I will definitely make sure that I spell check my cards in future, I don't want to make that mistake again.
I hope you have a great evening. My craft room is calling me and that is something I just cannot resist lol.
Happy Crafting and hugs

A Christmas Holly Branch

Evening Everyone,
That's Monday over. I can't believe how far away Christmas seems now.
All the decorations are safely packed away for another year, and the fabric Advent calenders have been stashed at the back of the wardrobe in the hopes that I will remember to put bigger buttons on them.
I say that every year, and every year they get put up and the daily gifts that hang on them fall to the floor at the slightest touch. Maybe this will be the year I remember.............don't hold your breathe lol.
Now I haven't managed to make any Christmas cards so far this year, but as we are only nine days in to it I think I might forgive myself. Besides I still have loads to share with you from last year.

These have all been made using a fabulous Holly Embossing folder which I have a sneeky feeling might have been discontinued.
I can't remember exactly what I did, but I know it involved dye based inks and a Christmas script background stamp.
This one has been created in a similar manner only using the embossed rather than the debossed side of the panel.
I love the colours on this one, I think it might actually be my favourite one of the three.
I used the same script background, but there was embossing powder involved this time.
This time I have used a piece of text background paper and wiped a brown distress ink pad over the embossed holly branch.
I added a stamped sentiment to each of the cards as well as some Card Candi.
I think I might have to play around with this technique again. Maybe a bit of playtime will jog my memory as to how I created the panels in the first place.
Have a good evening.........what's left of it :O)

A Leafy Happy Birthday.

Evening Everyone,
Another hectic weekend over. My Girls have been doing more sorting out at home, so I have spent the day taking my turn at playing with Emma, in between trying to get some DT work done and cooking the dinner so that they didn't have to stop.
I shall be glad to get back to work lol.
I have a couple of Men's birthday cards to share with you tonight.
The trouble with such a large stash of cards that I haven't blogged is that I often can't remember how they were made,
I have that exact problem with these ones.
I do remember that I wasn't keen on the original pieces of background so I did lots of stamping, embossing and sponging,
which gave me pieces of art work that I was much happier with.
This final card gives you an idea of what the panels looked  like underneath all of the stamping and sponging.
I obviously liked the colours on this one better as I didn't do very much more to it.
Thanks for stopping by, have a good night.
