A Belated Birthday Greeting.

Evening Everyone,
It's Monday again, where on earth is the time going to?
Having spent the weekend making DT samples I decided that I really ought to try and catch up with some commenting.
And then I realised why it is that I try and spend as little time as possible on the blasted computer.............it is just sooooooo slow.
It seems to take forever to do anything, so I have done a bit of housekeeping on my blog and made a few comments and then I am calling it a night before the darn thing ends up being thrown through the nearest window.
So here is a card that I sent to Barbara Gray for her birthday earlier in the month.

The central image has been stamped onto a piece of Brusho background from my stash which has then been layered onto a piece of background created using my Gelli Plate, a stencil and acrylic paint.
That's enough for tonight, my stress levels are through the roof, so have a good evening.

For a Special Mum

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have all been suitably pampered if you are lucky enough to be a Mum, or that you have been able to pamper your own Mum.
I have had a lovely day filled with crafting and copious amounts of coffee served to me by the Sin-in-Law and Grandchildren.
We popped over to see Mum on Friday to deliver her card, it was way to thick to send in the post lol. Emma usually spends all her time chatting to 'Pat-Pat' as she affectionately calls her, but this time she had a rival for her attentions as my Sister was there with my niece and her two children.
Emma and Myla were born a couple of months apart and were so sweet together. They spent ages posting farm animals and flashcards through the cat flap and then holding hands while they waited for my sister to get them back so they could do it all over again.
The card I made for Mum was inspired during a class that I taught a couple of weeks ago. It was Shaped Cards, and while I showed them how to construct an easel card, I made them all do homework and each share a different shaped card with the rest of the class.
I prepared a pack for each of them and for once I gave them no choice of stamps, so of course I had lots of ideas running around my head by the time I got home, all using the beautiful Peacock stamp set by Woodware.
I took along a couple of embossing folders to use, as well as Gilding Wax and Starlights to paint with.
Better get some shut eye now, although I'm still feeling wide awake at the moment. The trouble is we lost an hour last night which hasn't quite caught up with me yet, but it will be time for work before I know it so I had better stop.
Night night.

Little Charmers

Morning Everyone,
Did you enjoy Red Nose Day yesterday. Did you have fun doing silly things for Comic Relief?
We all dressed up at work to encourage people to part with a few of their pennies.
I don't really have anything related to Comic Relief, not even photos of us, so I thought that I would share a few of the cards that I have made lately.
I seem to have had lots of birthdays for little people recently.
In fact they are mostly for regular customers at the garage.
I have worked there for nearly 15 years now, so you get to see people on a daily basis, and watch the little babies grow up and start school.
And before you know it they are back putting petrol in their cars.
I love making cards and so when I find out when their birthdays are I add them to my planner.
It gives me such pleasure to add a smile to their faces on their special day.
Of course my LOTV toppers and Penny Black stickers are a great place to start when you need to make a card in a hurry.
And I still have a couple of free calendars from several years ago with some fabulous Penny Black images that I use to make cards.
I hope that you have a great weekend. It is gloriously sunny here today, a real spring day. Let's hope that it continues, I always feel so much more inspired when the weather is brighter.
Happy Crafting and hugs

For a Special Woman at CCM

Evening Everyone,
Well I'm sorry, I quite thought that I had prepared this post when I added my card to the CCM team blog last weekend. However I must have been having a senior moment, and as I have been too busy to blog since then I am sharing it now on the principal of better late than never lol.
The challenge over at CCM at the moment is For a Special Woman/Girl or Mother's Day.
As it's Mothering Sunday on 26th March if you are in the UK, we would like to see your cards for that Special Female in your life, and it would be nice if you shared with us who your creation is for.
My card was made for the birthday of my beautiful eldest daughter. Lets face it, what girl can resist a bunch of sparkly pink flowers :O)
The background was created using an Imagination Crafts stencil,
and some Starlights, Alchemy Wax and Sparkle Medium.
I wasn't sure that I liked it so I added plenty of sponged brown Distress ink, and hey presto a panel that I liked much better.
The flowers were also created using a stencil.
This time I used Alchemy wax and then fussy cut out the flowers.
I also added some die cut black leaves
also coloured with a little of the wax.
I hope that you will find time to join us, the challenge remains open until the weekend.
Lets hope I remember to press send this time. I will check again tomorrow just in case.
By for now.

A Diamond Wedding Anniversay

Afternoon Everyone,
In this day and age of speed dating and quickie divorce it is not often that you get the chance to make a card for a Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
My Sisters' In-Laws celebrated their milestone with a small party so I felt that I had to mark the occasion with a card from us all.
As time was of the essence I reached for one of my LOTV toppers which I cut out using a circular die.
I layered it over a couple of scalloped circles and added some sparkle pen and glossy accents to the champagne, bubbles and bath water.
The background is created using a large Embossing folder. I trimmed it down to a square shape and then sponged it with Diamond Sparkle Medium from Imagination.
The sentiment panel has been created using a Crafters Companion Only Words Edge'ables die.
I hope that they enjoyed their day, and here's to many more happy years together.
Have a great evening.

Well Done

Evening Everyone,
Just recently it doesn't seem very often that I have good news to share, I've made far too many sympathy cards :O(
So it was wonderful to hear a couple of really good pieces of news, and both in the same week.
Becki has recently completed a Diploma in Childhood Studies and was thrilled to hear that she had passed with distinction. You Rock Girl.
At the same time her partner Andy was offered a promotion at work, even nicer when it was offered to him without him even asking about it.
Of course I had to mark the occasion with a card so I created this one for them using some bits and pieces from my stash.

I adore this fabulous Hobby Art floral image. It is perfect for colouring in even on a piece of my 'Wet Watercolour' background.
The central white panel was made using one of the many Martha Stewart Border punches that I own.
I really must use them more often as they make a fabulous addition to a card.
I added some faux stitching, gems and texture stamping to the background of the card.
Let's hope that this marks the start of a much better 2017.
Have a great evening.

Sending a Smile to my Nice Gym Buddy

Evening Everyone,
No babysitting duties today so I am back with another post.

It is a little later than I had planned because I was fulfilling a promise to a friend.
My lovely Gym Buddy recently had a little accident which has resulted in her being confined to her home. She did however make me promise that I would still go to the gym without her.
She usually gives me a lift there and then I walk home rather than going on the treadmill.. Walking with a purpose always seems like a much better idea to me.
Today I decided (for some totally MAD reason) that I would walk to the gym and then maybe walk home afterwards depending on how totally knackered I felt.
I have to say that it is not the first time that I have done it, but this time I also had a back pack full of shopping, killing two birds with one stone as they say.
I wanted to send her a card to cheer her up.
She has fractured one or possibly both feet, so 'Get Well Soon didn't seem quite right, and I don't have a stamp with someone in a fetching plaster boot.
So I went with a lovely old Whipper Snapper image that I had in my stash. It reminds me of us.
We laugh that she is a nice Gym Buddy rather than a good one when she accepts my rather pathetic excuses for not going sometimes. I do think falling down the stairs is a rather drastic way of getting out of keeping me company lol.
I know that she was bored after the first day as she is normally such a very busy and active person. I do hope that she is also not becoming too addicted to dreadful daytime TV.
Anyway maybe this will put a smile on her face.
Rest up and get mended soon as I miss my 'Buddy'.

It's that Spiders Web that I promised.

Evening Everyone,
Have you had a good weekend?
This seems to be becoming a bit of a bad habit, only blogging at the weekend. I will have to try and break that..
Did you catch Hobby Art Jenny on the box a week ago? She had some fabulous new stamp sets, and some of the most amazing samples, just check out the Gallery.
I am forever in awe of what the rest of the team come up with, theirs always look so much better than mine.
A little while ago I promised that I would share a couple of cards using my favourite 'Spiders Web'/Shatter stencil so here is one that I made for that TV show.
I love the foliage from the CS160D Janie’s Collection – Oliver Owl set.
I stamped and embossed them onto a panel that I had created using the spiders web / shatter stencil, Imagination Sparkle Medium and Alchemy Wax.
As usual I tried the background out first, so here is the card that I finished off using that panel. Very similar but not identical.
My card for the TV was actually inspired by this one that I made a few weeks ago using the same type of background and some die cuts.
The cute little spider is from a Card-io stamp set.
Here are another couple of cards that I made using the same stencil.
See I told you I loved that stencil.
Maybe I will manage another post tomorrow. I did get caught up with quite a few things today so I guess it will all boil down to how much of a favourite I am with a certain little person tomorrow lol.
