Love You to the Moon and Back

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you are all having an amazing time.
I always struggle with my emotions today as it marks the anniversary of the death of my son Adam.
A loss is always hard to deal with, even after 15years, but somehow it seems even harder at this time of year when everyone else is in party mood.
My card tonight is one that I made for the last Woodware catalogue. but I think it says it all very well.
In fact Adam's big sister posted on Facebook this morning using this exact phrase, so I think it is a sentiment that we can all agree with.

I can't believe that we are already at the end of another year, and what a year of loss it has been especially in the world of celebrity.
Let us hope that the new one will be a better one for everybody. One that is happy, healthy and prosperous for us all.
When you welcome in the New Year this evening, please raise your glass to absent friends and loved ones and to anyone who is suffering.
Happy New Year to you All.
See you in 2017.

Watercolours and Embossing Folders

Evening Everyone
I don't know what you are up to tomorrow, but we will be playing with embossing folders and watercolours in class, despite it being New Years Eve.
Here are just a couple of the cards that I have made using this technique, which I found on Pinterest.
This first card is made using the first generation impression pulled from the embossing folder.

And this card uses a second generation impression with a different image stamped on to the panel.

As usual I got quite carried away, and even managed a Christmas card to add to the pile for next year.
I am really looking forward to sharing this with the Girls tomorrow, I am sure that they are going to have great fun.

A Beautiful baby boy........or girl.

Evening Everyone,
It must have been all of the Christmas cards that I've been sharing lately, it caused a major cold snap in the weather. The frost was so heavy this morning that it looked like snow.
Perhaps I had better give Christmas cards a miss for a few days, so here are a few baby cards.

This one uses one of my 'go to' Huge Word stamps from Woodware, some paper piecing and a lovely Marianne Collectable baby die.
Another Woodware stamp, more paper piecing and a few buttons.
I have several fabulous animal dies from Marianne Collectables.
They have lots of little details, so I cut them from both pink and blue card to give me two seperate cards suitable for either a boy or a girl.
I also cut them from yellow and green, which I actually think I like best. I sent this one to my Niece when she announced that she was expecting again,
and this one to my Sister and her Husband as the prospective Grandparents. As my niece doesn't want to know the sex of the baby till it arrives the colour scheme seemed a little more appropriate.
He even looks rather fun cut out of gingham.

Christmas Poinsettias

Evening Everyone,
Well that was hard, or at least it should have been.
First trip back to the gym in what feels like, and probably is absolutely ages. We got there OK, with all good intentions, until we discovered that it was closing for the day in 10minutes..............so we went for a coffee instead lol.
Still I did walk home as normal so I wasn't totally bad. And I have avoided most of the Christmas naughties, at least for the moment, but the night is still young :O)
You can never have too many Poinsettia stamps at this time of year I feel,
so here are a few cards made with stamps
from a couple of different stamp companies.
This one uses a piece of mop up card from a play session.
These next cards were created using masking tape
and sponged inks
which is the nearest I get to CAS cards.
More mop up backgrounds for this next pair of cards.
There are always plenty of these in my stash as I can't bare to waste the ink left on my craft mat.
The last few cards have been made using a Dreamweaver Poinsettia Stencil
which has been run through an embossing machine,
and then sponged with inks.
I have used my stencils so much more now I know that you can use an embossing machine rather than a light box. It is so much quicker and creates a lovely deep image.
I think we are abandoning plans for the gym this year. We will wait until next year/week now when opening times go back to normal, so in the mean time I will just have to make good use of the hoola hoop that I got for Christmas, and try and avoid all those christmas goodies which is going to be very hard.

Hope You Are Better Soon

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you are well, and not too cold. The weather has certainly turned cold here with a heavy frost this morning and no signs of a let up this evening.
I know of at least one person who will be wrapped up warm and snug for the next few weeks.
The son of an old friend fell off a ladder before Christmas and broke his hip so I made him this card to cheer him up.
The image is from an old calender that came free with a magazine, many years ago.
I chose it as part of my bid to use up bits and pieces from my box.
I think he is rather fun.
Lets hope that it cheers up anyone who is not feeling their best.

Rustic Wreath

Evening Everyone,
Have you had a good day. It was back to work as normal for me today.
We were really busy for most of the day which made it go by quicker so that I could get home to a little bit of peace and quiet. Quite a change from yesterday when the whole family were together and the house was heaving with Christmas noise and jollity.
Christmas is all about the children and it is amazing how having a little one around again brings back all of the magic and the memories.
Emma was very good at giving out the presents, and helping to open them. And who knew that you could have so much fun with a sofa cushion on the floor!! She spent ages just stepping on to the cushion, wobbling off the other side and then giggling hysterically before doing it all over again........for about 15 minutes. The more in danger of falling over she was the funnier she found it, giving mummy and everyone heart attacks as we tried to catch her.
She didn't remain completely unscathed having walked in to the corner of table at the beginning of the day. She had a lovely bruise in the middle of her forehead but it didn't seem to bother her for very long, and it certainly didn't make her sleepy, so a trip to A&E was averted, thankfully.
Just a couple of cards tonight using an old 3D M-Bossabilities folder called Rustic Wreath.
I used Mixed Media card stock and dye based inks.
Here is another version of the same card.
I love all of the detail in the folder. I think you could even use this one as a birthday card.
Off to bed now, it's been a long day.

Merry Christmas One and All

Morning Everyone
Are you ready for the big day?
Our turkey (the size of an ostrich) is defrosting nicely, although there was a little panic last night over the sausage meat that had got left in the freezer.
The presents are all wrapped and the cards are all posted. Once they are in the pillar box they are out of my hands lol.
We have managed to borrowed a couple of chairs to accommodate everyone at dinner time.

So now it is on to the veg preparation which might be a good time for me to stop for a moment and  wish you All a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year

Have a great day, whatever you are doing.

Thank You Woodware

Morning Everyone,
This week we have been saying Thank You at WoodwareWitterings.
Hopefully we will all have plenty of this type of card to make to say thank you for those gifts that are waiting to be opened tomorrow.
Now I don't for one moment expect that you would want to make lots of my card, but maybe you have a very special Thank You to say to someone.
This one was actually made to say a huge thank you to the wonderful Doctors and Nurses who looked after a friend during major surgery.
The central panel uses one of Francoise Huge Words.
I do love these. They are fabulous to paper piece, or just colour as I have done here.
I trimmed closely around the sentiment and added some faux stitching and Glossy Accents.
The background to the card has been created from scraps of co-ordinating card that have been cut into hexagons.
No large Thank You card is complete without some added flowers and leaves.
Of course you could always create a very simple card using just the coloured sentiment.
I hope that you all have a fabulous day tomorrow, and that you need lots of Thank You cards.
Happy Crafting and Hugs
