Thanks................ in Pink and Green

Evening,
Wow this definitely doesn't feel like the weekend at all. It is only the second day in my 8 day stretch and I can see that I am going to be on my knees by next Friday. I am already in need of a 'Granny nap', how sad is that lol.
The lovely ladies over at Woodware have been sharing projects this week using pink and green, and so I thought that I would make something to join in with them.
I love these Huge Word stamps designed by Francoise, they are just perfect for paper piecing.
I stamped and embossed the image onto pink and green background paper and then again onto white card stock. I added some foliage to the background before attaching the fussy cut letters using glossy accents as a glue.
The beauty of this type of card is that you get a 2 for 1 deal even if parts of the letters are missing.
The second card was made by stamping on to Kraft card and adding some leaves to the background in Antique Linen ink.
I added assorted pink gems to the background of both cards.
I think that I will send these to Judith and Dorothy to thank them for allowing me to be part of such a fabulous team.
Better get some sleep now, its back to the tills tomorrow, and Sunday is always busy or so I am told.
Night night.

Walking the Plank

Hi All
Have you all had a fabulous week?
I have been finishing off a few projects, and getting some cards ready for the post, late as usual I'm afraid, but then it wouldn't be from me if it was on time now would it lol.
This is one of several cards that I have made for recently using my lovely LOTV toppers
I made the surround to the image look like a porthole to fit in with the nautical theme.
The background has been made from strips of paper from my stash, and then I added some faux stitching, brads and Card Candi.
I hope that you will be having a weekend filled with crafty pursuits. I on the other hand will be working my fingers to the bone serving a constant queue of customers if I am to believe what my colleagues tell me about the garage at the weekends. Still if I have to be at work I would much rather that it was busy.
Have a great weekend.

Wooden it be Loverly

Hi All
Sorry this post is a lot later than it should be, this week seems to have got away from me already.
I have got to work at the weekend (big favour to my Boss, but then he has let me have time off to go to hospital appointments with both my Mum and youngest daughter so I suppose that I shouldn't really complain) but it means that today is technically Friday for me since I have the next couple of days off, all very confusing.
This week we have a new challenge starting at Crafty Cardmakers and More
Suze has chosen 'Wooden it be Loverly' and would like to see something wood related in your project (the use of paper alone doesn't count,) So perhaps a wooden embellishment, or wood effect embossed pattern, images of trees, a wooden fence etc.

I chose to use the fabulous Stampendous 'Poem Tree' and a piece of acetate that has been coloured using Alcohol inks.
The leaves have been stamped onto the coloured acetate using Archival ink which has then been wiped away using paper towel before the ink has had the chance to dry.
Unfortunately as with any acetate project it is very difficult to photograph. I tried both indoors and out without much success, so I apologise for the poor quality.
I used a leafy embossing folder for the background and also added a couple of wooden buttons.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Sentiments Designs with 3 designs of the Winners choice.
Please don't forget to stop by and show the DT some love, and why not enter, there is plenty of time.
Have a great weekend lol.

Wonderful Woodland Elements

Evening Everyone,
June, has turned into a very birthday heavy month. Thank goodness I don't have to find pressies to go with all of the cards or it would be beans on toast for the month and definitely no crafty stash.
I have had a couple of birthday cards to make for the guys at work so I used this fabulous old Woodland Elements set from Woodware, some coloured card and a little bleach.
This card is made using the same stamp set and a couple of Gelly Roll Glaze pens as well as some bleach.
I love stamping with bleach as well, which can be seen on the red strip across the bottom of the card.

Happy Birthday Max

Hello Again,
I can't believe how quickly this weekend has come to an end.
This card was made for a young man who I jokingly refer to as my Grandson.
He is the son of my Daughters best friend, and spends rather a lot of time at our house so we laugh that he has become a surrogate Grandson. In fact he turned up first thing this morning to show me what he had been given for his birthday. How sweet is that :O)
He loves his football and supports Chelsea so I added some blue Spectrum Noir pen to this Lili of the Valley topper. I hope that he will get past the fact that the kit isn't accurate.
I made some patchwork background using blue, black and white papers and added some medical gauze behind the image to look like the goal net.
The flags are cut using a DooHickey and were the ideal way to add his name and age.
I even had a few left over bits to be able to make another card to put in my box. I'm sure that it will come in handy some time fairly soon.

And now for something completely different

Hi Everyone,
I hope that you have all had a fabulous day. Mine did not go quite according to plan, although it has been good none the less.
I must have known that today's class was not going to be straightforward when I didn't get my tag and instructions done in time. I was pretty sure that the Girls would forgive me, I took biscuits instead, talk about bribery lol.
Anyway as it happens I had to think on my feet and come up with something completely different when Davina's iron when up in smoke, quite literally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We ended up rescheduling the class (Embossing Folders and Waxed Paper) for next month and played with inks and resist stamping instead. So I have a couple more weeks to get my instructions sorted out, and find a new iron.
So instead of a card from today's class here is one that I made for my Granddaughter to take a birthday party this afternoon.
I used an old Lili of the Valley topper and some pink background paper from my stash.
The punched border and heart are DooHickeys and I added a tiny flower and a brad.
I don't think that I will risk trying to iron anything just at the moment, lets hope that I can get away with it with my uniform for Monday lol.

Bluebells for Jenny

Hi All
I'm back again.
What can I say, three days on the trot. Well I do have a bit of catching up to do on the card sharing front lol.
This card was made using one of the new stamp sets CS078D Bells from Hobby Art which Jenny showcased on Create and Craft TV on Wednesday.
It is always gratifying to see your art work on the box, but it is even better to hear that your card has been the inspiration for the current demo.
The background to this card was actually made using my Creative Palette, inks and some bubble wrap, and then I stamped and embossed the image onto it and coloured it using Spectrum Noir pens.
This clear stamp set consists of 13 stamps including the border stamp which I have used around the edge of the card.
I can't believe that it is Friday again tomorrow, and then I have another fabulous class planned at Davina's. I hope that it isn't too hot on Saturday as we will be doing the ironing. Well at least we will be using the iron with waxed paper and embossing folders. Perhaps I should take my clean uniform with me and maybe some one will iron it for me lol.
Bye for now.

Going Round in Circles

Hello there,
They do say better late than never, so I an hoping that you will agree, since this is the card that I should have blogged last Monday for the start of the new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and More.
There is still time to play along with our theme of 'Going Round in Circles'.
For my card I used my fabulous Circular Grand Nesties, definitely my favourites and so useful.
The floral image, by Woodware, has been stamped and heat embossed onto white card stock and then painted with Watercolour Pearlex.
I then dry embossed the image using a dotty embossing folder, one of several that I appear to own, before cutting it out with another circular nestie.
I added a verse, also from Woodware, and a few pearls.
I hope that you find the time to enter our challenge, and I would also like to thank you for sticking with me.
I think for the moment I will continue with my old laptop until I have a little more time to play with the new one. I'm not sure that I could cope with the new technology at the moment, I'll stick with being a dinosaur lol.

Long Time No See

Hi All
Long time no see. I'm sorry that I have been AWOL for so long.
As you know I have been having laptop issues, and so I decided that it was probably time to bite the bullet and invest in a new one before my old one died completely.
BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!
I am not very computer savvy, truth be told I'm rather scared of them. What I do want to do is to be able to switch them on and work on them without having to have a degree in computer sciences. But this is obviously where I go wrong.
My new laptop has Windows 8, totally different to my old one. I HATE IT.
No instruction manual with it, just quick start instructions of plug it in and switch it on, really useful!!!
My lovely friend Joe even put Windows 8 for Dummies into a file on it for me, but I need to know how to find the file to be able to read it.When I did finally manage it is like War and Peace.
All this while trying to finish all of my samples for the new Woodware catalogue, so no time to just play, instead tears and no blogging.
In my ignorance I expected a new laptop to be quicker and easier to operate, not slower and only connectible to the Internet if you are sitting right on top of the Hub.
Any how, that is why I have been absent. Thank you to those of you who noticed. I hope that things may start to get back to normal, and for the moment I am still using my old laptop, lets hope that it lives on for ever. :O)

It's Never a Mistake

It's always an opportunity. At least that's what Julie Hickey always taught me, so when one of my ideas for Saturday's brayering class didn't go quite to plan, I just changed it to sponging instead. Waste not want not as the saying goes lol.
The butterfly panel was supposed to have shown off using ink brayered onto an Embossing Folder.
Unfortunately the ink pad that I chose was a little too dry and so there was hardly any ink transferred. The panel was too nice to throw away though so I decided to sponge the colour onto it instead.
I painted over the butterflies with a Versamark pen and embossed them with clear embossing powder after I had removed some of the colour with thin undiluted bleach.
I used the same folder to emboss the background card, and added a little sponged ink to it to highlight the embossed butterflies.
I also finished the card using the Glycerin panel, as promised.
The background card onto which the flower panel has been stamped and embossed, was created by rolling an inked brayer over a piece of screwed up copy paper before rolling it across glossy card stock.
I coloured the flowers using Spectrum Noir pens, and then added a sparkly dome to each center.
Isn't it typical that the weather has changed as soon as the kids are due back to school.
Megan has a week full of exams to look forward to so I suspect some stroppy teenage behaviour will be on the horizon. She has been a good girl and has done plenty of revision so I'm hoping that all will go well for her. She has chosen her options for next year so these exams will determine whether she gets the subjects she wants or not.
Oh dear look at the time I really must get some sleep.
