Paper Pieced Floral

Morning,

I do love a bit of Paper Piecing, especially when there are nice large pieces to play around with.

I used a sheet of background paper from a Clarity Paper pad for the first two cards.
That of course being the other beauty of Paper Piecing.......you get a Twofer.
I'm not so sure about this card, but as I have often found everyone's taste is so different. The cards that I have spent ages on and am really happy with are often sidestepped for the ones that I am less than happy with, like this one. I guess that it is a good thing that we are all different otherwise there wouldn't be such a wealth of wonderful new things for us to play with. It would be very boring if we were all the same.
This is a lovely layering die set and I have used the leftover paper for the background panel on this card. I then layered some white card stock on to a sticker sheet before die cutting the main image. This allowed all the pieces to be held in place.
I managed to match the colours in the background paper using my Distress inks.
A fine white matt helps to 'lift' the die cut and coloured panel along with a piece of funky foam for added dimension.
The sentiment is from my stash and comes from Simon Says Stamp........I think.

Paper Cuts Floral Edger Die

Evening All,

There is another new launch over at Creative Expressions today, and this time it some fabulous Paper Cuts Floral Edger dies, a couple of which I was lucky enough to get to play with.

This one is CEDPC1163 Iris, and it is perfect for some paper piecing.
I used scraps of green and white card having first trimmed the panel and layered it onto a white card which had background text stamped onto it.
As you can see I was having fun with some blue mop up backgrounds from my stash. They look fabulous whether they are used to die cut the image as here.
Or used as a background for for a plain white die cut.
Plain black and white with a pop of colour is another suggestion.
And for this final card I lay my white die cut onto a sticker sheet. A bit more paper piecing and then some gilding flakes to finish things off.
I hope that you have as much fun with these dies as I have.
Thanks for stopping by.
Stay safe and hugs

A Country Cottage

 Evening,
Another card using one of the new Paper Panda dies tonight.
I've told you before that I hate to waste anything, so I have started to keep a piece of plain rice paper on my desk to pick up any inks left over on my craft sheet. This was a tip courtesy of Leonie on Hochanda.
Once it has dried I add it to a sheet of sticker paper and then I can use it as background paper.
For this card I die cut the die from black cardstock and added it on to a circle of the handmade background.
For the card base I embossed another square of black card using a 3D embossing folder from Creative Expressions. I also added Lavender Blue Opal polish and Ocean Teal Gilding Polish to highlight the embossing.

A Card for Vixykins Nan

Evening Everyone.
I've been so busy today (cardmaking and babysitting the twins!!!!) that I haven't stopped to take any pictures and now it's too dark, so I thought that I would share the card that I made for Vixykins to send to her Nan on her 90th birthday.
For those of you who didn't know about it Vix tried to organise 90 cards for her Nan's 90th birthday.
I think it was an absolutely brilliant idea and I happily sent a card for her to give to her Nan on the big day.
I only wish I had thought of it for my Mum who will be 80 in August :-)
This is the card that I sent her.
It was made with one of my all time favourite Hobby Art stamps from the Jean's Floral Collection. I have stamped it several times on to a sheet of sticker paper that is pre cut into squares. Once I had coloured it in - distress inks of course lol - I have reassembled nine squares sticking them onto black glossy cardstock and leaving a narrow border around them.
This panel has been mounted onto a green card that has had the floral image stamped and embossed down the right hand side. I have then coloured this with bleach.
Boy this card is full of my favourite things lol.
A piece of ribbon across the centre completes the card.
I hope Doreen had a fabulous knees up, and that Vix didn't get in too much trouble. You know what Nan's can be like when they scold you lol.
Better close now. I seem to be getting a little better with this new edition of blogger. I suppose like anything it just takes practise and like most 'oldies' I don't like change.
Thanks for stopping by.
