Reminds Me Of Blue Skies

Evening,

We actually had some nice blue skies today, so here is a card that reminds me of them. A little cloudy perhaps, but blue nonetheless.

The mop-up background was created using some inks and a piece of watercolour cardstock.
I added a sentiment on a circular die-cut,
and some die-cut flowers
and leaves.
I also added a darker blue die-cut frame
along with a fine glitter mat and layer.
My eldest daughter popped in to see me today after work and said that she had heard that we are in for some snow!!!!
So, let's make the most of the sunshine while we can. At least it has dried up our lake in the back garden, until the next deluge that is.
Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You... For Your Kindness

 Evening,

It's been another wet and miserable day here.

I had to walk to Horley and back today to get my Covid booster, rather unsuccessfully dodging the torrential rain.

One delightful car driver decided that it would be a jolly wheeze to drive as close to the kerb as possible and soak me. To add insult to injury he then turned around and drove on the wrong side of the road through a huge puddle thus soaking me again!!!!!!!!!! I so wish that I had been able to catch his registration number as my friend has just informed me that it is an automatic £1,000 fine.!! Oh to have been a fly on the wall when that letter arrived.

Since Mum came out of hospital in September, after fracturing her pelvis, we have been lucky enough to have a fabulous team from Reablement to help her in the bathroom each morning. They are a lovely bunch of ladies, always smiling and helpful and eager to put Mum at her ease.
Our care package changes next week so we will have a new set of people to get used to. I do hope that they are as kind as the last. It is certainly not a job that I would like.
As we are currently writing a couple of Thank you cards, I thought that I would share one that I made earlier in the year to send up to SirStampalot.
I used a layering die, cut from white and glitter card.
The background to the card is created with Distress inks and then I used a die cut flower as a stamp. Stack several of the die cuts and stick them to an acrylic block. Use vellum for the last layer in the stack so that the water or ink that you use to stamp with doesn't soak into the cardstock.
I added some diecut and coloured flowers and foliage to the corner of the frame.
I added some tape to the back of the base flower to keep all the die cut pieces in place, and then added a second flower for added dimension.
I used the stamp that I created with the die cut flowers to stamp the background on this second card. It's only small, but I hate to waste any bits and pieces.
I've finally dried out, and so far I haven't had any ill effects from my Covid jab.

I'm Thinking of You and Sending Love and Hugs

Evening,

I've had far too many of this type of card to send this week.
To my Cousins on the Anniversary of their Fathers death,
and to my Mum and siblings on the 20th anniversary of my Dads passing.
It will be a particularly hard week for my Mum with both anniversaries within a couple of days of one another.

Then there is one for a close friend, and another for a work colleague. It's been a week of hard anniversaries.
My 3D embossing folders have become go-to equipment for this type of card.
It is very easy to create a card quickly, but one that still looks suitably impressive.

I have transformed a plain piece of cream cardstock by using a 3D embossing folder,

some inks, die cut sentiments and frames, along with a few well chosen sequins and gems.
I know that some of them have already arrived, on time for once I may add, as I have had a couple of text messages. I love being able to send a handmade card to brighten up somebodies day.
Thanks for stopping by.

On Your Wedding Day

 Evening,

A rather late finish for me, but at least I have managed to finish all my DT work and a commission for a friend as well, so all in all a very successful weekend.

I can't share the DT work, but here is the card that I made for my friend.
I used a Tonic die and some pale gold glitter card for the heart.
The die cut letters are also from a Tonic die set.
I added a die cut frame over a piece of paper from my stash.
The floral element is from a Crafters Companion decoupage pad which also has matching dies.
It makes a rather bold statement piece on a card, but it did mean that I had to make a box for it to go in.
I need to get to bed now, early start tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by,
Stay safe and hugs

Black and White and Pink and Grey

Evening Everyone,
It's the end of another lovely weekend full of glorious sunshine.
Fortunately there has been a bit of a breeze, at least this morning when I went for my usual walk.
In any stamp collection that I am lucky enough to receive from Jane, there is always one stamp that is the easiest of the bunch to play with, and one that ends up being a bit of a favourite.
This beautiful floral stamp is just one such image.
I found it hard to stop making the samples with it.
I used white embossing on black card stock for the background and fussy cut images coloured with
a Cosmic Shimmer Summer Garden Watercolour Palette for this card.
For this card I stamped and embossed in black on white card stock, and then painted around the flowers with grey ink for a monochrome look.
I added one of Jane's circular sentiments and some sheer ribbon, along with a silver glitter matte and layer.
This card is very similar, but with a pop of colour added with the circular sentiment and fine coloured border.
I'm sure that there will be a few more cards cropping up using this stamp set, but I will call it a day for now.
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your evening.
Stay safe and happy crafting.

Thinking of You

Afternoon All,
Definitely been crafting weather here, very dull, wet and miserable.
Unfortunately I have recently had to make several of those cards that none of us like sending.
My Uncle died on Monday so I have made cards to send to my cousins, and my Mum.
I recently purchased this fabulous 3D embossing folder by Tim Holtz.
I love this type of folder, there is so much detail that you really don't need to do very much else with them.
I die cut some black panels and then dry embossed them before adding a little bit of gold Gilding Wax. The glitter card is actually from one of the Poundshops and is a lovely soft gold which goes beautifully with this panel.
I added a white embossed sentiment to each of the cards.
Today is a hard day for Mum since it also marks the anniversary of my Dads death, so I hope that the card will at least make her smile.
Dad loved roses. I have one that he gave me in a pot outside my front door. It's pretty amazing really as I am not renowned for my gardening skills lol.
I hope that you all have a good day.
Thank you for stopping by.
