Wrapped Notebooks

Evening,

It's been such a long time since I blogged regularly that I now have a huge amount of projects to share with you. So here are a couple of notebooks that I made with the Girls ages ago.

I do love the Eileen Hull dies, they make the most amazing notebooks, just perfect to give as a gift.
I used the Wrapped Journal Die here.
I covered one side of the Mat Board with Sizzix Texture Roll in gold.
I added an extra panel to the front which I had embossed using a Honeycomb Embossing Folder.
I also added some acrylic paint to give the panel a distressed look. The pages inside were cut from Kraft card
The outside of the notebook was embellished with a variety of tiny die cut flowers,
a twiggy wreath,
and diecut letters.
I have several more of these in a box waiting to be finished off........no surprise there then lol, but I have given a couple of them away as birthday gifts.
Perhaps I will get them finished in time to give away as Christmas presents, you never know.
Thanks for stopping by.

More Wrapped Notebooks

Evening Everyone,
I've managed to finish the rest of the Notebooks that I started last week in class using the Eileen Hull Wrapped Notebook die.
This one was made using a couple of layers of kraftcard and a woodgrain embossing folder and then embellished with Tim Holtz diecut elements.
This one was made in the same way and then I added a die cut of trees and deer that I found in my bits box.
I added plenty of acrylic paints and a bit of gilding wax.
This one is made from mount board and more acrylic paint. I do find the kraftcard easier to work with since I found that the mount board seems to crack along the folds...…..unless I'm doing something wrong that is.
I'm on a mission to use up bits and pieces that I have already cut out, so this is a diecut peacock using a freebie off a magazine.
I filled my books with card or paper pages cut out using the Eileen Hull Passport die.
This time I have used some threads to attach my pages and hold my books closed.
Its actually wool although it looks and feels far more like thin ribbon.
I think perhaps I might add a few beads to the ties, if I can find any with a big enough hole in them that is.
Of course I couldn't throw anything away so I made a card out of the stencil that I created for my first book and a few more die cut leaves and flowers. This includes the ones that I cut out of foam and used to stamp on the book pages.
I have really enjoyed making these, so I'm not sure how good I will be at giving them away :O)
Thanks for stopping by.

A Memory Book

Evening Everyone,
I have just spent the most enjoyable day prepping for my class tomorrow.
We are making books using the wonderful Sizzix Wrapped Notebook Die designed by Eileen Hull.
I saw it on Hochanda some time last year and just had to have it,
but haven't had the chance to play till now.
Oh boy, have I had fun. I can see lots of people getting these as present.
I also have the Passport Journal die which cuts pages that perfectly fit the Wrapped Journal.
I die cut some more of the flower and foliage images that I used on the front only this time out of funky foam,
and used them to stamp on the pages using Distress Oxide inks.
It just gives the pages a little extra interest.
This is very Mixed Media for me.
I added some texture paste to the front through a stencil cut from card using a Tim Holtz die and then added a little Gilding Wax.
I used elastic to fit the pages into the journal, and also as a means of closure.
I'm not sure that it will stand up to being carried around in a handbag, but it will definitely make a good place to keep lists so I think that I will make one as a notebook tomorrow.
I hope that 'The Girls' will enjoy themselves as much as I have.
Have a great evening.
