Purple Patchwork

Hi All
I hope that you have had a good day.
I have had quite a creative few days on the card front.
I took Monday and Tuesday off to try and catch up with some things after the power cut, and have managed to get quite a few cards finished. My bits box is definitely a little lighter, at least for now.
As you know it was my lovely daughter's birthday on Saturday and this is the card that I made for her.
I created the sheet of background from my hexagon box, choosing pieces that co-ordinated with the stamped, embossed and coloured panel. The image is from an old Magenta stamp.
This panel was created with white embossing, dye based inks and some Watercolour Pearlex.
I added some assorted gems, ribbon and a sentiment.
Back to work tomorrow, and hopefully we are going to be getting a delivery provided they let it through that is. The water level is still up, although as I have said before it is still minor compared to lots of places.

  1. Kim - I love this card! Particularly as purple & turquoise are my favourite colours!! The background is amazing! I thought it was a decorative paper till I read your blog entry - what patience you must have.
Gorgeous effect, though, so worth your time & effort.

Hope the water level has started to go down.

    take care, Liz M x

    2. did you cut the hexagons with a spellbinders die? I'm thinking this is a really good way to use up those lovely scraps of paper we just CAN'T throw away :-) Liz M x

  2. Hi Liz, I have loads of different hexagon dies but the one I use the most is a punch from Stampin Up. I have been known to sit in front of the TV and use up scraps with this punch lol.
    Hope this helps xx

  3. Hi Kim, do you know where I can get a hexagon stamp. I don't know anyone who sells Stampin'Up and their postage on line is exhorbitant.

  4. thanks, Kim - that does sound easier than setting up the die & cuttlebug each time & it's multi-tasking, too :-)
I'll see if I can get one,
    Cheers, Liz x

  5. Hi Girls, if you let me have your e-mail address (I won't publish them) then I can put you in touch with a Stamp-in demonstrator who will be able to find someone in your area. I had a party and invited a couple of crafty friends, it was good fun and I got some freebies as well.
    Let me know. hugs Kimx
