Just Because........................

Evening Everyone,
Have you had a good day?
I'm struggling to keep my eyes open so I had better make this quick.
Remember I made a card for a little girl that comes into the garage? Well I have missed her little sister's birthday as it was in March.
I don't want them to think that I play favourites so I decided to make her a card 'Just Because.........'
The image is a Lili of the Valley die cut embellished with some tiny dots, Glossy Accents, Stardust Pen and Glitter Glue.
The sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley and is just perfect.
I see that they are starting a monthly challenge on their Ideas to Inspire blog tomorrow so I will have to check it out.

Bright and Beautiful for Lavinia

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have had a good Monday. It has been a little colder than it appeared I have to say, but still quite bright which is why it was so deceptive.
I have a rather special card to share with you tonight.
It has been made for an equally special young lady who will be 13 on Wednesday.
However as it was also made for the Lavinia challenge which will have finished by then, I decided that I will share it with you tonight and hope that she doesn't check out the blog before Wednesday.
The challenge at Lavinia has been Bright and Beautiful, so I hope that this will fit the bill, you practically need sun glasses to look at it :O)
I have used several of my Lavinia stamps, Distress Inks, Glimmer Mists and Nesties, along with an assortment of flowers from my stash.
I also added some tiny white dots to the central panel, along with tiny black dots around the edge of the panel and some gems on the wording.
And of course there is some Glossy Accents and Glitter.
Well you can't have Fairy Toadstools without a bit of glitter can you lol.
I decided that at 13 Megan might appreciate something other than the cute Lili of the Valley images that I usually reach for.
I would also like to enter this into Alphabet Challenge where F is for Fantasy, and Forever Friends use Lots of Flowers.
Off to bed now.
Night, night.

Sunset

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have a nice relaxing Sunday, or have you been like me , frantically trying to catch up with DT work which should have been finished ages ago!!!
I have managed to get a few things done, including this card for a friend of mine whose birthday is on Tuesday. Looks like he might get it on time, that will be a first lol.
Now I didn't say that the card was started from scratch did I, in case you were thinking that I had some how managed to create a 36 hour day.
The central panel was in my bits box and was made quite some time ago using a lovely Hobby Art stamp (Sunset) and Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE).
I also think that this makes a fabulous card for a man
Fortunately this card is for hand delivery as I'm not sure that the UTEE would survive a trip through our postal system. The panel does have some cracks in it, they were deliberate, but I would like it to arrive in one piece which is why I picked it for a card that I could hand deliver.
The background papers are from my stash and I have added Faux stitching and some stripy Card Candi.
Better close now, I need to find some addresses so that all my hard work to get cards made in time doesn't go to waste.

Stamped Bargello

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have had a good day.
I had another fabulous class at Davina's.
Who knew you could have so much fun with some strips of paper and double sided sticky tape!!
My good friend Gill was back from her hols so there was also plenty of coffee, good conversation, and she brought some fabulous biccies which we all ate far too many of. All in all a fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
The class this week was on Bargello which I did many years ago with tapestry thread but which I was recently reacquainted with over at Technique Time Tuesday where Mynnette explains the technique using paper.
As usual they started the class with a tag for their book, complete with instruction sheet.
I added some vellum, which as I explained to the Girls is always great for covering up any bad stamping.
The left over portion of my Bargello panel has been used to create this card.
The stamp is from Stampendous and was definitely one of those 'I have to have' purchases.
Alright, I know they are all a bit like that, but this one was top of my list when the new catalogue came out.
I stamped and embossed the image onto the Bargello panel and then used the tree part of the stamp on the right hand side of the Kraft card.
I think that this makes a great 'Man's card'.
I would like to enter this into the following challenge
Tuesday Throwdown - Make your own Background
Boy, look at the time, I had better close now, I have another full days crafting tomorrow. It's a hard life isn't it lol.

Photo Inspiration at Lili's Little Fairies

Evening Everyone
Happy Friday to you all. I can't believe how quickly it has come around again.
As you know it doesn't take much to give me an excuse to make a card, so when the daughter of one of our regular customers announced in a very large voice this morning that it is her birthday on Saturday it was just too good an opportunity to pass up.
I have used one of my Lili of the Valley die cuts and background papers from my stash.
The team at Lili's Little Fairies have provided a photograph for Inspiration and I have used that to help me create my card.
I have added Buttons and Bows so that I can enter the challenge over at Dutch Dare Card Challenges.
Although it is not easy to see in the photographs I have added some Glossy Accents and Stardust pen.
The Little Girl who is destined to receive this card will be having a Pottery Party tomorrow, I hope that you all have just as much fun as she will have.
Have a great weekend.

A Day filled with Endless Possibilities and Adventures.

Evening Everyone,
Another lovely day here, and I even managed to get a card made which is a big plus.
Our local Community Policeman is moving to another district so I have made this to send to him.
He has been a frequent visitor to the Garage and so we will miss him, although he says that he will still pop in and say Hello when he fills up with petrol.
I thought that the sentiment was highly appropriate. It comes from a new Woodware set JGCL569 Inspirational Verses. I have cut it out using a Circular Nestie.
The flowers are from another Woodware set designed by Jane Gill JGCL572 Daisy Layers which I have stamped onto background papers from my stash.
Talking of Woodware, several of the Girls (Judith, Francoise, Jane and Dorothy) are taking part in the Moonwalk in London on 11th May so why not stop by their fund raising page HERE and sponsor them.
The Moonwalk helps to raise money for Breast Cancer services, a very worthy cause which I think we have all been touched by be it personally or through a friend or relative.

Birthday Wishes with Clarity

Evening Everyone
I hope that you are all well.
I have had more unexpected babysitting duties this evening so crafting has taken a back seat again today.
Fortunately I had a reasonably successful weekend so I have several cards ready to send, and share with you.
This card was made for a young man that we have know for a long time. I have used a rather nice Clarity stamp for the main panel which I stamped with Versamark ink and coloured using a cotton ball and Decorating Chalks.
I added the greeting using a Hobby Art stamp and Sepia Versafine ink.
The background papers are from my stash and I added some twine and a small charm.
Lets hope I manage some crafting tomorrow, although I have promised the twins that we will finish the DVD when they get home from school so we will have to see what happens after that.

Life should be Celebrated

Evening Everyone
Hasn't the weather been glorious today, well it has been here at least.
This is a card that I have made for one of the cashiers at work, it will be her Wedding Anniversary tomorrow.
The central panel was a piece that I created quite some time ago following instructions for Velveteen Stamping over at Technique Time Tuesday.
Now I tried and tried but I just couldn't get my panels to look like Mynnette had  intended.
Despite this they didn't end up in the bin as you might have expected because I still liked what I had created.
I knew that I would find a use for them at some stage.
I dry embossed the stamped panel, and also added some glossy accents to the flower centres.
The background papers are from my stash and I added a couple of DooHickey swirls.
Lets hope that tomorrow is every bit as nice as today, it's about time we had more than one nice day in a row.

Wild Poppies

Evening Everyone
Well I survived, and so did they.
I did have a little person creep into my room at 4am. It was like sleeping with a starfish in the bed she stretched all of her limbs out in all directions, quite a squash in a single bed lol.
I haven't managed to get anything creative done today. To be honest I have had a truly lazy day, although I think I have earned it don't you?
I did manage to get something made yesterday before everyone arrived home.
This was made to enter into this months challenge over at Clarity where they are looking for 'In the Garden'.
I have used the fabulous Poppies in Bloom and a little paper piecing using background papers from my stash.
I cut the image out using a Nestie and added some Antique Linen Distress ink while the die was still in place.
I also used Wild Poppies and Antique Linen ink around the edges of the panel and the background paper.
I have given the Poppies some dimension by attaching them using silicon.
I would also like to enter this into the Monthly challenge over at Forever Friends where they want Paper Piecing.
Back to normal tomorrow, if work can be considered normal that is.
Off to bed now, although I have to listen out for the Big Kids returning since they didn't take their keys with them.

A card from Sylvie for the Woodware challenge

Evening Everyone
Well, I survived part one of my babysitting stint, not so sure about the kids though lol.
Part two tomorrow to include both school runs, tea and bedtime!!!!!!
Unfortunately the weather has not been as kind near Alton Towers, it has been raining. The Big Kids have still been having a great time though.
Once again Sylvie has come up trumps with a card for the Woodware Sketch challenge.
Her creation is just amazing I think you will agree. I love her interpretation of the sketch.
She bought this set a while ago after she saw a card that I had made with it.
I just love her colouring.
Better get to bed now tomorrow is going to be a very long day. Wish me luck.

April Flowers

Evening Everyone
Have you had a good day?
We have been bathed in beautiful sunshine here, in fact it has been really quite hot. Oh well I've said it now so that will be the kiss of death to it lol.
We had another fabulous class at Davina's today where I showed them how to use the Punch Around the Page Punches by Martha Stewart and also how to create some 3D flowers.
As always we started the class with another Tag for their book, complete with written instructions for them to stick to the back of the tag as a reminder of what they have done.
I was quite amazed, and a little embarrassed to realise just how many of the Punch Around the Page punches that I actually own when I packed them up to take to class.
As an entire punched square wouldn't fit onto the tag I cut it in half, and this is the card that I made with the left over half.
I have used background papers from my stash to stamp and emboss the flowers,
and I have used a Hobby Art sentiment on the right hand side of the panel.
The flower centres are Card Candi.
The punched panel was spritzed with Goosebumps Texture Medium, I love that stuff, it is what has left the white splodges on the punched and sponged panel on the left hand side of the card.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges
Allsorts where they have 'A Passion for Flowers'
TTT Challenges where 'April Showers bring May Flowers'
Wags and Whiskers where they are looking for May Flowers.
I am hoping to catch up with some DT work tomorrow before the Grandchildren get back and I start my babysitting duties.
The 'Big Kids' are off to Alton Towers for grown up playtime.
I'll stick to watching TV with my feet firmly on the ground thank you very much :O)
Thanks for stopping by.

A Huge Happy Birthday

Hi All
Just a quick post tonight, I can't believe how late it has got.
This is another of the cards that I made this week. It is heading off to the daughter of one of the Guys that used to work at the garage.
I raided my bits box for the  pieces that made this card. It is amazing what treasure you can find when you look.
I have used several different stamps including the Woodware Huge Happy Birthday, and a Magnolia Swirl stamp. There is also some Embossed Numbers, Card Candi and Glossy Accents.
I have been frantically trying to finish my tag for tomorrows class so I had better get some sleep and finish it in the morning. I'm not sure that my instructions will make any sense otherwise.
Have a great Weekend, and hopefully some Happy Crafting.

Cute and Cuddly

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have had a good day.
I have two little boys that regularly come in to the store with their Mum. They started school last year, and like to tell me what they have been doing.
It will be their birthday on Sunday, so I made this card for them.
I have used an image from one of the Art pads, new from Lili of the Valley. This is from one called Jack, Patch and Puss.
They come in pre-coloured  Art Pads or ready to colour Sketch Pads and as each image is on a single page it makes them that much easier to cut out using the larger shaped Nesties which is fabulous.

Now I know that I have a huge collection of Lili of the Valley stamps, but I never seem to allow myself enough time to colour the images in myself, so I reach for my equally large stash of die cut images.
I cut the image out using a Nestie and then added some Pumice Stone Distress ink while the die is still in place, and also some Faux stitching..
The circular sentiment is also from an Art Pad.
The background papers are from my stash, and I have added some Card Candi, Glitter Glue and Glossy Accents.
I would like to enter this in to the following challenges
Lili's Little Fairies - Seeing Double
Cupcake Craft Challenges  - Cute and Cuddly
Cute Card Thursday - CakeWalk
Thanks for stopping by.

Sunset Through Trees

Evening Everyone
OK, so before you say it, I know the rain is all my fault lol. It has still been quite warm though so I really don't mind.
My card tonight has been made using a wonderful Hobby Art stamp Sunset through Trees.
I stamped the image onto black glossy card stock using Versamark ink and then brushed it with Pearlex powders.
The sentiment is also from Hobby Art Greetings Clear set and I have layered it over a piece of card which I have embossed using a clock embossing folder.
Just right for a Man I think, what about you?

Abracadabra

Evening Everyone,
Have you had a good day?
It was not quite so bright first thing today but still nice enough not to have to wear a coat to work. I even managed to do without my fleece at the till, although I don't think that I will be consigning either item to the back of the closet just yet lol.
I have had to make several cards just recently for younger children and this is the first of them.
I used the lovely sketch over at The Friday Mashup where the challenge this week has been
  1. Create a project using the "Sketch".
  2. Create a "Birthday" project.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Birthday project using the Sketch"
I have used another of my Lili of the Valley die cut images cut out with a Nestie. The papers are from my stash but are old Magnolia papers.
I added a DooHickey punched border and used the tiny stars to embellish the card.
I coloured the stars using my favourite Stardust pen although I'm afraid that it doesn't show up terribly well.
I would also like to enter this into the Fortnightly challenge at Forever Friends where they are looking for 'Diecuts and Punches', and Stamp and Create where that want you to use 'At Least One Die'.
Thanks for stopping by.
