Sorry Anna, but I didn't say I wouldn't play!!

Evening All.
I do love my inks and backgrounds as I expect most of you know. I have been having another wonderful day of play at Sir Stampalot only this time I have been playing with copic pens.
Sorry Anna, but I haven't been using them to colour in so maybe it won't count. I promised my friend Anna that I wouldn't get in to copics, but I didn't promise not to try them out.
I caught a tutorial on using copics direct on your stamps and this seemed much more me so I thought I would give it a try using Janice's pens.
I think you will agree that the effect is really quite nice. The floral panel on this first card was actually a way of salvaging an image that I didn't particularly like.
It was a bit blurred and so I added some distress ink and then stamped and clear embossed the image again over the top.
The floral panel on this card is created the way the tutorial suggested by using the copics direct on the stamp and then spritzing with alcohol blending solution before stamping the image.
The colours bleed together slightly due to the blending solution and by using glossy card stock it certainly does give a nice bright image.
The panel that it is layered over has been created using alcohol inks with a Hero Arts stamp white embossed over the top.
Both cards are completed using cuttlebugged paper and card. Pearls, brads and ribbon are the perfect final embellishments.
I hope you like the cards I certainly enjoyed making them.
Must get to bed now as I have my Metal Embossing classes tomorrow (Thursday).
Night night

  1. Both cards are beautiful! I just love the colours, and the effect of using the Copics direct-to-stamp. Must try it with my Promarkers.

  3. Hi Kim,

What lovely cards. Though I have plenty of Copics I've not been brave enough to use them directly onto my stamps yet. Effect looks really cool. Great cuttlebugged backgrounds.

  4. That's gorgeous Kim, lovely effect :). Love the way you've displayed it with the nestie and distress ink. Hmmm now I wonder where my love of ink and backgrounds came from!

I remember a llong time ago thinking I wouldn't ever get into stamping.... Then I wouldn't get into copics (ok I went for promarkers instead!) And my latest is I won't get into martha stewart punches, I haven't yet but am getting weaker!
